Watching you walk along Santos St aka Blow Road (or Blow Row to many) is sad to watch. My first time pulling up (1985) to Caddy Shack, with Marilyn’s across the dirt road, Black Pearl past Super Head and Fire Empire with Niagara now shuttered….. so many others. …gee… even ‘the Flaming’ where that street-walker tried to engage you in the morning no less, for some AM. bareback activity or a shine, were all favourite haunts for all us guys lucky to live it back in the later 80’s, 90’s even early 2000’s when I spent 5 months there every winter enjoying the local air of safety, comfort, economy, and good times day after day.
It was like a 24 hr Carnival, the party that never ends !
‘No repeats’ was an easy policy and 400p incl. tip took care of everything easily!
What was dozens of hole in the wall bars and virtually hundreds of young girls right out of the rice paddies, all keen, energetic, sweet for the most-part and ready to roll, others with a year or two experience, a little hard, flirting with personell off the base and the early flock of ‘civilian’ travellers who discovered this oasis of sin that was open for business.
The best memories now reduced to these lonely vids with trikes flying around, no sidewalks and always watching your back.
Now it’s just plain done. Can’t imagine even thinking of a visit because it would just plain hurt to see.
Can’t call it progress !
It’s something else altogether, and it ain’t good, and it ain’t pretty ….sad to say.

Angeles needs an overhaul of its streets and sidewalks.
They had 3 years of covid lock downs to fix it. The corrupt government failed again. It will always be shittySideWalks

Another good blog I hope to be back there soon I went back to Australia to have medical check up and see friends and family originally hoped to only go back for 5 months been a year now had a couple of medical issues but all good now I miss my dogs and my home over there got a really good size garage and workshop I muck around in hope to be back soon take care

It's hard to compare rice prices in the States to there in the Philippines. Here a bag I saw was $27.00 and it was 50 lbs. It translates to $1.19 per kilo. But out rice could be better quality and not the same exact kind. Also this was at a Gordon Food Service store. Like not the cheapest place to buy rice. ✌😎

But with you and lot's encouragement, I hope that she will speak English more often. The streets are definitely empty on Thursday and Friday. It's been really hot these last few days. And you are right about, not everyone celebrates holy week. There are different religions, that may have there own way of how they celebrate. Question! What do you know about Cebu? I am planning my trip, a Thailand type of experience if you know what i mean. However I heard that the government has cracked down on that kind of fun and that cebu is essentially dead for it. I would try Angeles city, but i am looking for ocean and jungle adventures as well not only for fun but to make it look more like a legit vacation. First have you seen the cebu action is it there? and Second if I tried Angeles city is there more to it than just city life? I am against city life a bit mostly because I live in Los angeles and its city enough city for a lifetime. See one seen them all.
Start your trip off in Angeles get all the flesh mongerring out of your system. Then finish your vacation off in Cebu with the ocean and adventuring.

Look at this way, many places are shut & most people get the day off of work. Let me tell you a story about the stop sign, it's been there so long that everybody has forgotten about it. It just blends into the background now. Couple of weeks ago I had not 1 but 2 MVAs with motorcycles driven by yewts, 1st one bounced off my right side, he was lucky he didn't go down. 2nd one ran into the back of me while I parked 2 feet beside a Sari Sari store.

@@woodshome11 So an xMax is 308,000 pesos out the door? Tax, title, dealer prep, etc. ? Here in the US an xMax is stickered at $6100.00 but after the dealer adds all the additional B.S. it's about $9200.00 to $10k

Foreigners are prohibited from owning land in the Philippines, but can legally own a residence. The Philippine Condominium Act allows foreigners to own condo units, as long as 60% of the building is owned by Filipinos. If you want to buy a house, consider a long-term lease agreement with a Filipino landowner.
About the only way a foreigner can own land is if they were former Filipino citizens or inherited the land from their Filipino citizen spouse or parents.

There is a very very very very large percent of the filipino population that has a very US-sounding first name, you would know that if you worked with Filipinos or went to the country and really got to know people.
