would be nice if more people followed racing technique like this rather than staying full throttle and running everyone off track. Always annoying when you're braking properly for turns and second or third place racers just run right into the rear of your car.
Lol ngl I don’t do that anymore but when I was younger that was my favorite thing to do 😂😂😂 just steal someone’s spot by using their car as a crash pad lol
This is such an eye opener. Broughy's racing school vids told me that I should minimize the amount of time between braking and applying throttle, but I always floored it thinking it was fastest. I just tried your method out and it just FEELS faster. Thanks!
Rockstar need to add an option for players to choose a race that is non contact so real racers can show and use their real skill. Every time you try join a race it'll always be some sweaty 12 year old host who sets it to standard which at first isn't bad, but then they drive like idiots and sabotage and then it becomes a game of luck, not skill
You have to counter their dirty tactics, watch your back at all times. When they come behind u and about to side swipe your back end, brake and one of 2 things will happen IF YOU TIME IT RIGHT, 1. they completely throw themselves off the track as they tried to swipe your back end to spin you out or spin themselves out 2. Your front will be in position with their rear side end, here you can spin them out The person behind will have the advantage towards dirty tactics, watch your back when someones behind you, counter their tactics, then mess em up and gain 1st place + distance over them. Rinse and repeat through every race. Im sure there are many more counter moves out there, I know this one best because ive experienced it the most. Goodluck
this is a better techique i've been taking corners by braking and fully holding the gas and it was much slower but your method is much faster and i recently just started racing thank you
this video I was looking for...thank you...i have a horrible habbit of throwing the car in to a corner and braking at the same time just to slide it through most of the corner...i always thought a higher entry speed plus less braking ment going through the corners quicker
Thanks for the vid. I just bought gta5 again. I sold it before because I couldn't drive right. Not was so much easier on the PS3. I'll be trying this tonight.
when you apply the brake, do you just hammer it for a short time or feather it to prevent locking wheels? or just use a lower brake upgrade level prevent locking?
That’s pretty helpful but I’d like to see you race my track called Serenity. It’s a very tight and technical race. It’s the complete opposite of tranquil because it’s some what intense without other racers.
I would recommend teaching people about racing lines because I have played on true racing games and have played gta v racing and consistently win even though only level 47 because I have better angles on the turns and leave at a faster speed
All u have to do is release the right trigger DO NOT press the left trigger (brake) or else you will go slow. When u are coming to a turn u release the the right trigger then turn and half way through the turn that’s when you hold the gas
Question so my normal technique was releasing throttle before corner braking then throttling like 50% through it. And then full throttle out of it assuming its safe to do so otherwise proba like 75%. But your saying the better means is just reducing throttle to like 50 percent prior to corner as oppose to releasing it. Then brake to control speed prior to turning into it (throttle still being used while braking?) And then just driving through it?
Do you have any tip if the cars grip is bad? I mainly use the Imponte Phoenix and the grip is bad but I love the car. Do you have any steering tips for cars that have bad grip?
Thanks so much for the tips. I am having difficulty getting my stat for "distance driven without crashing" up. My best is 1.67 miles but I know I've gone further but it didn't register. What am I doing wrong or missing?
One problem its hard to find people who want to race on classic tracks and even if they do i still have to make it no contact no slipstream no catchup. Everybody is playing stunt races these days.
No it's the best way to take a corner since your car is on fire u don't have to worry about when to brake or use your throttle , which makes it the ideal way to go through a corner. ;-)
so after braking you immediately apply partial throttle after you begin turning? so there is no point in the corner where you are coasting? (no brake and no throttle) also please do a video on flicking the analog stick, as mentioned by someone else, thats holding me back from mastering smooth lines as well
Trunks7890 coasting through is the best way to ensure you don't oversteer, but a few moments after you hit the apex, you want to start opening the throttle. But for beginners, it's best to just coast through the corners to master the lines and smooth cornering. Advanced cornering involves applying throttle, but it also depends on the car you're using. RWD cars like the turismo, you have to feather or accelerate partially or the engine will slow you waay down, but AWD cars like the zentorno, you can coast through or even better, approach the corner at full speed and trail brake the corners, which might be the fastest way in that car.
What about flicking the stick? I feel like this is the only thing that is holding me back from racing. How fast do you flick the stick? And in which frequency? Do you flick it all the way down? Do you always have to flick the stick or are there times when you just have to hold it in place? So many questions yet no answers.
The same tips go for gta online on PC aswell, you just need to use minimal/ half throttle, and minimum steering correction, precision on keyboard, but wait keyboard has very little precision compared to a controller , yet people are allowed to use controllers in same lobbys as keyboard racers, amkes 0 sense. ITS a handicap
You tell us to use the whole track. I do but I still crash. The problem isnot whether or not I use the whole track but the game not steering powerfully enough even when I hold down "d" to steer right. Literally GTA V for PC is broken.

I thought the first part of the video was demonstrating how to do it......its way better than my driving
Ah man, would be awesome if GTA V had a legitimate circuit in the map, maybe something inspired by Red Bull Ring would be something the gamers enjoy
Next game should have 3.
A large oval, with infield tracks.
A large track.
A winding street circuit.
There's a difference between applying this to time attacks and actually racing.
Usually depends on your opponent(s).
Ive been driving sloppy all this time... thanks picano!
