Agreed. Obviously there was some North American bias here just because that is where a majority of my following lives and so many have probably not had the opportunities to go overseas and ride them. Hopefully in the future we will have more international participation.
Yeah, I see why there would be a bit of fanboy/ patriotism that bias’s the votes. Personally I think nemesis is better than alpengeist; I generally prefer a more snappy and forceful type of invert so I love nemesis and prefer it over montu. If montu didn’t have its mid-course then I would prefer it over nemesis and probably the same for alpengeist.
Of all the ones I've ridden, my favorite is Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williamsburg followed by Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa, Banshee at Kings Island, Raptor at Cedar Point, Dragon Challenge at Universal's Islands of Adventure (Hungarian Horntail and Chinese Fireball respectively), Goliath at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Texas respectively, Great White at SeaWorld San Antonio and Silver Bullet.
Not surprised at all by Alpengeists performance. It has top tier stats and it doesn't have a weak layout. I feel like Afterburn has been propped up recently due to Carowinds becoming a must visit park for coaster enthusiasts.
I think it would be fair to seed coasters by year. Newest being the 1st Seed. It's unbiased and takes into account the aging factor of some rides that don't quite stand up anymore. I think you'd get some interesting upsets as well.
You definitely slept on Alpengeist here... It's quite possibly the most intense B&M invert at 195 ft with a 170 ft drop. Also, for Banshee, I recommend sitting in the front row to reduce the rattle. Unfortunately it has developed a rattle but the year it opened, it was my favorite roller coaster
For the most part agreed. Can’t speak for the European inverts but expected Katun to place much better. Also not surprised by afterburn being that low, it’s great for what it is but so short. Also alpengeist is awesome but I have it at number 3 of what I’ve ridden behind Banshee and Raptor but just slightly above Afterburn and a good bit above Batman.
Katun for me is the best, it’s huge, it’s intense, forceful and it has the best layout on an invert. Most of the invert have lame parts but Katun does not, it’s just element after element.
Really fun tournament with some really surprising results! BGW us my home park and I loved seeing Alpengeist get that kind of love, was pretty shocked that Afterburn finished where it did. I also think Batclones are awesome and would do better if there weren't so many of them, I've never gotten off one and thought "meh". Looking forward to the battle of the manufacturers!
I think the reason Afterburn placed so low is because carowinds only recently became a destination park, so relatively few people have actually ridden it
Definately agree with the first place pick. Montu is the most intense B&M coaster I have ridden by far, and it absolutely dominates every other invert I've ridden. The fact that I tend to prefer flyers to inverts (I'm mostly judging by the fact that I prefer Superman: Ultimate Flight clones to Batman: The Ride clones, ie the standard model of each), but prefer Montu to Manta, should tell you something to say the least.
Surprised Pyrenees wasn’t on here, I’ve heard from most people who’ve ridden it that it’s by far their favorite B&M invert. Shame Katun lost too, that looks like the second best invert overall
I feel like it would be interesting to check the bias in these. I’d like to see what park each voter claims as their home park. I.E. 85% of voters are from the US with 25% claiming Cedar Point as their home park.
If you ever get a chance to do a TX coaster tournament Irat should get #1 seed, TX Stingray #2 seed, Shock Wave, #3 seed, and New Texas Giant, #4 seed. This would be a fun tournament for someone who lives in Texas
Alpengeist is almost 200ft so that alone makes it an easy top 5 seed for an all invert tourney. Done Afterburn a couple times and I’m honestly shocked you’ve had lots of people telling you it’s a great ride, average at best. Top 2 was pretty easy to figure out from the start though.
Love the videos! As you continue to do tournaments do you think you could incorporate some photos/footage/a summary of the stats for each coaster (maybe rank 1-16 for the stats for tournaments like this). That way those who haven't ridden a particular coaster can get a better idea if they might like it or not.
Top 10 based on Coasterbot's massive poll: 44. Montu 50. Katun 54. Nemesis 57. Monster 63. Ozrlis 75. Black Mamba 76. Alpengeist 84. Afterburn 105. Raptor 106. Banshee Pyrenees had fewer than 10 people ranking it in that poll which hurts it.
Alpengeist is located at my home park. Its definitely overlooked by some in the coaster community. It is one of the most intense inverts I've ridden. The first drop and following inversions still take me by surprise today and it's one of the older inverts. Also we are friends on Pokemon Go. Hope you're enjoying the gifts haha!
I like this idea but I think it’s pretty unfair, u didn’t even include Pyrenees in the matchup, and I know u can only have 16 but excluding one of the most highly regarded inverts is a big mistake, Pyrenees probably is up there with montu as being the best invert, it looks like a giant Batman clone, which is awesome cuz I love the compactness and hippy elements of Batman but also the giant, super sustained intensity of banshee and combining the 2 sounds amazing, also this was unfair to katun, as probably none of the voters have ridden it, in my opinion it’s also right up there with Pyrenees and montu, it looks like an old school version of banshee and lots of ppl that have ridden it praise katun
idk it’s a great ride but some transitions are a little rough but i barley noticed it tbh. i prefer only Montu and Banshee over alpengeist tho so it’s a great ride
I think that Talon winning over Katun shows American bias. While Talon looks good, I actually prefer Katun over Black Mamba layout wise. Also Talons theming is much worse than Katun.
First of all friend u ramble on way to much with ur opinions. Ok I’ve only ridden about half the inverts on this list and yes alphingist is my no 1 Montu & Raptor is 2 & 3 unfortunately I will probably never get to ride all of them
@@d_moneyy It's too drawn out and not whippy like an invert should be. B&M and other manufacturers have obviously drifted away from whippy transitions and elements but a good inverts should provide those forces rather than be graceful.
My 2019 rides on Alpengeist were fantastic. It deserves to be up there. Montu and Banshee are my 1-2 inverts also with Montu coming out on top.
Personally nemesis is better than alpengeist. I prefer rides without mid courses as I feel that they kill the pace
Hence why it’s my favourite invert

@@al0742 that’s only North America though.
False! Banshee is best!
Europe inverts were so underrated here, katun oziris and nemesis should have got further then they did

I’m from Europe. This vid made me kinda sad ( well the results, not the vid )
Agree
Definitely but I still think nemesis

Finally a bracket where I've been on more than one coaster
Not surprised at all by Alpengeists performance. It has top tier stats and it doesn't have a weak layout. I feel like Afterburn has been propped up recently due to Carowinds becoming a must visit park for coaster enthusiasts.
Katun is one of the best b&m inverts
Got upset didn't see it coming either
Love the coaster tournaments. Thank you so much for the great video.
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoy them!!

*Alpengeist looks so underrated!!!*
I love it. I’ve only been on alpengeist and great bear, and both are good but alpengist is so intense and incredible
Afterburn and Katun are so underrated
alpengeist is so slept on. my fav invert by far
For the most part agreed. Can’t speak for the European inverts but expected Katun to place much better. Also not surprised by afterburn being that low, it’s great for what it is but so short. Alpengeist has the most intense cobra roll I have ever experienced
I love the tournament! Keep them coming. Also shouts out to BGT for my baby Montu!!

Alpengeist looks great but my heart will always belong to Nemesis. Not only cos it scared the crap out of my brother when he just watched it as a kid.
Definately agree with the first place pick. Montu is the most intense B&M coaster I have ridden by far, and it absolutely dominates every other invert I've ridden. B&M inverts are my favorites outside of RMCs so I really enjoyed this! Afterburn is definitely much better than 7th though lol
Yeah, this is making Afterburn look bad
Poor Talon, such a good ride at a lesser-known lower-tier park 😞
Oziris tho. Its legit as good as montu, if not better.
Surely Raptor would have won then
One of the craziest tournaments... great video! Alpengeist is awesome btw!
Banshee is an excellent ride..love it! Good to see it getting love
Worldwide I think the Top 4 B&M Inverts are Pyreness, Katun, Nemesis, and Montu.
I grayed out on every valley on Banshee and that pretzel knot was super intence
I think Alpengeist is well placed! I love it and the huge size of it makes it really cool. Definitely one of my favorite inverts!
If you ever get a chance to do a TX coaster tournament Irat should get #1 seed, TX Stingray #2 seed, Shock Wave, #3 seed, and New Texas Giant, #4 seed. This would be a fun tournament for someone who lives in Texas

I’m not even half threw the vid o just know Montu is obviously gonna be the best in America like always.
Controversial opinion: Nemesis Inferno > Nemesis
I could see that
Spicy 🌶
U mad
Why?
@@ski_feet101 I found Nemesis Inferno much smoother and more enjoyable
Top 10 based on Coasterbot's massive poll:

50. Katun
54. Nemesis
57. Monster
63. Ozrlis
75. Black Mamba

Its strange how nemesis gets a huge bias from people that haven’t ridden it
We need a kiddie coaster tournament for April Fool's day
Yes!
Lil Phantom would win- _I don't even think that would be a contest!_
I love this idea! I was also thinking of doing a tournament surrounding an infamous coaster model from Vekoma for April Fool’s as well 😂😂
@@DestinationThrills lol that would be great 😂
Lil Phantom will dominate that
Alpengeist is my favorite B&M invert. Banshee isn't even in my Top 5 B&M inverts.
So Black Mamba Won and Batman The Ride clones were my follow up

Pyrenees is the best invert imo
Banshee has gotten super rough. Shook do hard it gave both my friend and I headaches last time we rode
Banshee ftw
You should do a tournament on all the coasters in both Busch gardens parks!
Flight Deck doesn't get a ton of love because it's short, but it's got a world-class finale.
Great Tournamnet but you really need to add Pyrenees! Many regard that as their all time favorite.
What about Pyrenees?
You gotta separate the OG Batman from the clones.
Nemesis didn’t get enough appreciation as it deserved Im my opinion. It got taken out a round to early.
OzIris is better then nemesis

Yeah I think Alpengeist is sleeper hit and think all the Raptor fan a banned since it was not in the finals
I know makes me want to really ride it now!
I’ve ridden 4 of these (raptor, great bear, Afterburn, banshee) and in my opinion banshee placed perfect
Have u done a bnm hyper tournament
Another great coaster tournament! 😃
Thank you!
OzIris drew the short straw with its first round match-up. I actually prefer it to Nemesis.
Just started. Though I don’t see the point. Batman at SFSL is of course the Tops! It turns to the right!!!
I feel cheated. :)
For me it would really be either Banshee for the elements or Nemesis for theme. If pushed I guess Banshee.
F in the chat for *Pyrenees*
does dueling dragons count? i know it’s defunct… and would you count it as one coaster in the tournament or two?
Alpengeist = Best Invert.
Come at me
idk it’s a great ride but some transitions are a little rough but i barley noticed it tbh. i prefer only Montu and Banshee over alpengeist tho so it’s a great ride
I think that Talon winning over Katun shows American bias. While Talon looks good, I actually prefer Katun over Black Mamba layout wise. Also Talons theming is much worse than Katun.
Agreed. Talon is not even one of the best inverts in the U.S. let alone the world
I think it’s just more to who’s ridden it. I think the poster is American so it’s not shocking he has a more American based audience.
I’d like to ask what makes alpangeist so good. It took out my nemesis and I wonna know why!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two reasons: Nemesis is overrated and more people have probably ridden Alpengheist
More intense and not as overrated as Nemesis
@@SmileBullet have u riden nemesis
@@daftarcher4383 I agree that more people have riden alpengeist
nemesis should have come top 2 at least
No ozIris should’ve beat nemesis

I have Alpengeist as my favorite invert, better than Montu
TGEEZY #1 FULLSUPPORT
I also don't really like Banshee
I STRONGLY disagree with the results
