Ok Abby, I am just a little bit jealous. Staying in apartments and vintage shopping in Europe is my favorite travel experience. I love the vibe of your video. Thank you for taking us along. I was compelled to subscribe to your channel. Cheers!
Love love. When I grow up I want to be just like you. I’m actually about your age. 😉. I admire your hutzpah. And all your beautiful treasures. Do you carry them from place to place? Look forward to your next video.
More to come! It’s extremely oversized and inside I put a heavy duty duffel bag that fits the same amount as the suitcase. My carry on was only 3/4’s full.
I can't believe you didn't pick up that bird tile at 6:26. It was most likely a Helmut Friedrich Schaffenacker piece. To die for! Do you remember what the asking price was?
❤ WOW ❤ Thank you for taking the time to show the views, the lodgings, your travel outfits, the chocolate store, the Nacht Winkel on the Canal, all the bicycles.....the quiet early parts of the day, I could feel the jet-lag ha ha but YES, Thank You! This felt real xox as if I was there, too!
Belgium is beautiful and clean glad you took us with you most people would never get to see .your Pic s are amazing🎉 we could never experience such a abundance of really some great treasures probably not ever in our state of iowa but .love to decorate with your kind of treasures really amazing buildings and art work to boot beautiful churches the architecture is soo relaxing loved all of this video iowa joanie
What a beautiful country!!! You are definitely going to need a bigger suitcase!!!! All of the amazing finds you found are incredible! I'm putting Belgium on my wish list for sure!! Take care and I cannot wait for your next video!!!❤❤❤
Oh you should! It’s crazy to me how more Americans don’t visit. The airfare alone is way less expensive than flying into Paris or Ámsterdam and it’s a gorgeous country.
I had the opportunity to go to Ghent a few years ago! It was very beautiful! I wish I could have gone thrifting.I did go too an antique shop. My goodness! The art was beautiful and very old! I loved seeing your trip.
I loved the 2 paintings in the beginning, the lady, colorful, very fun colors. I was hoping you bought those. Love the trench art. Love trench, tramp, prison art. That crucifix is stunning. What a fun house exchange (the 2nd). The rugs! What a bunch of eye candy. Thanks. 😊
It’s the first time I discovered your video!… I really enjoyed tremendously!… your finds were beautiful, especially the paintings, I appreciate them, since my mother was a great painter and I grew up with her beautiful creations.!…
I love your channel! I love that you own all these businesses and take us sourcing worldwide with you! Have fun. Looks like you need to buy another suitcase 😂
Welcome in Gent. I studied in Gent. I live in Oudenaarde, half an hour away from Gent I love Brussels, very artsy I agree. Lots of museums My favorite city in Belgium in Brugge. We went to a vintage and antique market there yesterday. The lionhead looks like the handle of a cane I love Florentine, the tin with the cats and the casket. Love the moody painting. Have fun in Gent
I hope you have a wonderful trip. I have so many questions. I would love to do this. What is home exchange, is it like Airbnb? How did you know about the flea markets? Thank you for sharing your adventures!
HomeExchange.com is basically a home swapping site. You gather points every time you host someone then use them to stay in other peoples homes. I’ve done 50 home exchanges and 95% of the time they’ve been great. Some basic and some lavish. I determine what area I want to visit then scour the internet for yearly flea market events and plan my trips around them. I knew about Bruge from Laura Caldwell and I had heard of Lille, the largest flea market in Europe, when I was researching my last trip. I kind of had to jump around but this area is small and the trains are great so it’s been easy. The internet really has the best info. If you’re interested in a similar trip Brussels is a great place to fly into and many towns are just a short train ride away. Even Lille was only an hour on the Eurostar.
That’s a little tough here as nothing is priced and if you ask you run the risk of getting into a haggling situation since the starting price is never the end price.
I’ll have to measure for you when I return but it’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen. Inside I also put an oversized duffel bag that fits an equal amount of stuff.
Well the challenge at the Brussels market is nothing is priced, actually that’s true almost everywhere, and if you ask you start to get into a haggling situation.
There are so many questions about this adventure so far, but I know you can't answer them all. I love the way you're dressing to suit the country's. You look absolutely gorgeous! Maybe you'll find yourself a handsome Parisian man.😘 You found some great treasures already. Except for the Hooves, maybe LOL.❤
What you call very very old is maybe just 50 years old and it made me laugh! I am from Belgium so a lot of the things you bought are totally kitch for us. The deer feet are totally grooss to us and no body wants that kind of stuff.
50 years would be mid 1970’s. But regardless I actually specifically look for items that are not valued in Europe but bring good money in the US. The deer feet, if customs allows, will make someone in the US really happy.
Wonder what the largest fleemarket in Europe is. Don't believe it to be in Belgium. You got nice stuff at really good and some just ok prices. Would not have paid 15 for the phoenix birds. Good job! Now go away 🙄🤪

Oh darn, it looked very cool but I had no idea. No, nothing at that flea market had prices unfortunately.

Yes, I think you’re right! I got it from my grandma. Even though she only spoke Spanish she was fearless and a born adventurer.
Lovely video and great finds in Belgium and Ghent. Love that mosaic byzantine plate. It's really beautiful. Can't wait for part 2!
Thanks so much! 😊 I found the mate in Bruge and had to buy it.

September has been a great flea market month.

I will survive❤❤!!
I love your videos. Please say the prices. The chairs are gorgeous
That’s a little tough here as nothing is priced and if you ask you run the risk of getting into a haggling situation since the starting price is never the end price.
Gaaahhh!! This is amazing!! 🤩 I’m taking notes!
Just curious… exactly how big is your “one suitcase?” 😅
I’ll have to measure for you when I return but it’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen. Inside I also put an oversized duffel bag that fits an equal amount of stuff.
Hi love this so much Abigail ' but really wish you would have told us the prices on everything you were looking at🤔
Well the challenge at the Brussels market is nothing is priced, actually that’s true almost everywhere, and if you ask you start to get into a haggling situation.
So the price they give you is always extremely inflated
Will you be able to bring taxidermy into the US? Aside from that, you must be having a blast.
Eeeek a little worried about that but I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Oh I am, and getting plenty of exercise.
@@AbigailsArtfulAbode So envious. I'm heading to Paris in April .... Hoping to do the big one in Belgium when I'm there. Can't wait.
I would have bought that much art too. Not the hooves though 😂
Lol, that was definitely impulsive.

Oh thank you! Lol, some random stranger did offer to hang out with me at the flea market but I turned him down.
What are your questions?
Are you allowed to bring taxidermy to the US?
Mmmmm they may wind up being confiscated.
you are so sweet ...How much for the rugs?
Rugs seem to be going for $80 and up.
What you call very very old is maybe just 50 years old and it made me laugh! I am from Belgium so a lot of the things you bought are totally kitch for us. The deer feet are totally grooss to us and no body wants that kind of stuff.

Kitsch is good!!
What you do is throw your clothing to the wind, do a naked little dance and fill your suitcase with loot and treasures!
Lol!!😂😀
*****Check rules of US Customs to bring back taxidermy from another country ******
I will!!

I think it’s Lille, leaving Belgium today for the Netherlands. Left plenty behind, lol.
Yes, it's in Lille ❤
