How to Install Outside Exhaust Vent on Brick Home. Dryer, Bathroom or Kitchen.

Replaced old vent with new, "no-pest" double door. Use "Great Stuff" to seal around opening. Good install video here:

Hi Mark, a few questions if you don't mind:
1)The interior view of your final install shows the plastic plate on the interior as well as something that looks like a muffler on the vent line (another vent door perhaps?)
What is the plate doing for the whole install?
2) Any idea what the CFM on the bathroom fan was?
I considered using this style vent cover for a bath fan but was concerned that it wouldn't be strong enough to hold the door open; as opposed to a dryer.
3) Lastly, the maker recommends putting the metal cylinder over the vent line instead of inside it.
Were you able to do this with your install?
