Luckily my great grandfather had a clothing buisness and he had connections and he managed to get his family out of the ghetto. And they hid in Athens (Italian territory). They were in Athens till the war was over and when they went back to Thessaloniki there’s barely any Jews around because almost every Jew in Thessaloniki that went to the camp’s didn’t make it back

This may sound ridiculous or even dumb but when I watch this movie and especially this scene I wish I'd been old enough to have gone to Israel and volunteered to go with the group. To have been in the presence of and fought beside men with such courage is indescribable for me.I've always admired the strength and courage of the Israeli people.
