I know it's hard sometimes when parents divorce. It's always the kids that suffer the most.
Thank you for your story. It gives those of us with prodigal sons hope that they are surviving out there in the world alone. And will come home when they are ready. Running away from home and suicide are the cruelest form of revenge. It leaves no room for reconciliation or closure for both ends. Life shouldn't be this way but pain causes some to make hard choices. You're one of the lucky moms, not every son returns home to give us a second chance.
As parent, these stories are hard to listen without tearing up. Thank you for sharing.

I don’t understand why you even left your son when he’s so sick just because your selfish husband that didn’t loved your son wanted you to go home and yet you listen to that husband of yours and still left your son to go home once again you picked your husband first before your dying son why!?
It's best raising ur kids alone so no one's can abuse them . Ur kid just needed more attention n love . So sad to be separated for so long but he did do well by himself

So sad. Makes me miss my son. I have only one son, he’s in the military and is always far from home. He calls me and Skype me sometimes and when he comes home, he always tells me how much he miss me.
Don't ever doubt the power of being a parent. As a parent, if you say that your child will equate to nothing, then your child will be nothing. If you say that your child can accomplish anything they work hard and set their mind to, then they will always find a way to be someone. Your words matter. How you support or don't support your children matters! Let this be an example for all to learn from.

Parents are just ordinary people doing whatever they can to make ends meet. They’re learning how to parent as they go, as their children grows into individuals. It’s a learning process being parents. Nothing can prepare a person to become a parent and there’s no training program as each child has their own temperament and personality.
Children learned from their environment. Everyone reacts differently from their experiences in life. Children become their own person of their own choosing.
Such a very heartfelt story. Thank you for sharing your late son with us. He was a good man and provided for those he loved before he died. What an amazing man. RIP.

Your youngest son is a good son after all. It is so sad. He loves and cares about you so much. A mom's love is so unconditionally and the bestest of all.

I'm married to the 2nd born and most hard headed child of the family. His temper will go from 0 to 10 in seconds. Hes like that son in this story. His parents gave him everything and didn't argue with not giving it to him. He's my problem now but like that son he is the most giving, loving and thoughtful person. Just don't make him mad lol his mom loves him and still calls about him all the time.
Bawling my eyes out. . . . . . . such a sad story for the son and the mom but I'm so glad they made peace before he passed.

This is a mother's worst nightmare. But the moral of the story, this lady said it. She remarried and just thought of herself, figured if she was ok,.then that was good. This story confirms my belief that a single parent should not date/remarry until the kids are adult age. You will live with the guilt until ur dying day because you chose someone else above your children.
Such a sad story. No words can comprehend the emotions in here. It’s never easy for kids when parents get divorced. In the Hmong culture, it’s usually ugly and the kids suffer the most in silent.

That’s right. Don’t ever doubt your children’s love for you. They didn’t ask to be born. Some kids will grow up to be selfish and heartless but most parents are as well. In this case, even though this mom didn’t show any love to his son, he has always longed for his mother’s nurturing love.
So heartbreaking and I hope all young parents learn from this story and all older parents think turn back and do the right thing. We only no how to live and love because of our parents.

So sad. His depression probably also helped bring on the cancer. How sad. And he loved you so much. When a child can't find a safe place, a place to fit in, an important relationship, the child will seek the crowd that accepts them. You as a mother could not fulfill that for him and that is why he chose his friends and did wrong. And you kept rejecting him.

Divorce or not you brought your children into this world. It is your responsibility to provide, protect, support, and love them. Be a women independent enough that you do not have to get approval from another person just to buy your child something or do something for them. Be a women strong enough that you will remove and protect your children from hatred. Be a MOTHER!
