This week, our favourite Irishman, Jason Doyle, explores some never-before-seen stalking ground in the Republic of Ireland. The elusive sika deer is his target - and to make things harder, we've only arrived an hour before nightfall. The clock's ticking - can we stalk into a stag?

What is the name of that shooting stick?
Has the law changed regarding when deer may be shot? I seem to recall that it used to be from one hour after sunrise till one hour before sunset. Maybe the law is different in Ireland? Also it used to be illegal to shoot from a vehicle but I now see numerous videos where rabbits and foxes are shot from vehicles. Perhaps the shooting of pest species is ok?Just wondered. Good video and good shooting.I liked the advice to keep the initial cut small to keep the carcass clean.
