CH, can't thank you enough for these videos. Your channel has taught me alot about homebrewing in the last few months, especially when it comes to saving money. Living in Colombia where erverything is incredibly expensive and finding ways to save a few pesos here and there is key. Keep up the good work! Cheers
I'm fortunate that my tap water is pretty soft and doesn't taste of chlorine. Originally, I'd try figuring water chemistry by going off the "default profile" of my city. Ward Laboratories has a water kit for brewers, that's cheaper and better than the water test kits being sold. So I've got my own water profile now in Brewfather...and one of the best tools I found it has is automatic calculation of minerals for beer style (vs me trying to do balanced equations when I first tried worrying about water chemistry!).
CH you have rejuvenated my passion for homebrewing. I’m now BIABing on a claw hammer kettle, using a homemade bottling bucket to ferment, not paying for ice, using sous vide food grade magnets to dry hop, using that fast carbonation stone in my keg, and Kveik yeast. Probably doing a bunch of other things I forgot to mention here. But I learned it all from you. What used to take me 3-4 boring long ass weeks to make a batch now takes me 3 days. It’s amazing to brew on a Tuesday (now under 3 hours, thanks to your time saving tricks and mentality) and be slamming a keg of homebrew with the fellas on Friday night. Thank you for the content!! Cheers from IN!!
If you want purified water as a commercial brewery you need an RO system with a very big water container to hold the water before adding it to your hot liq and cold liq and just add the minerals back in with your sparge and boil. Best way to make consistent beer without have to use city water that is different all the time.
Great tips and highly entertaining. The action bags in with the yeast and the tiny digits had me rolling! Thanks for helping this new home brewer and making it hilarious. Welcome to TN!
I'm in Italy visiting a small town where my great grandfather came from, anyways, this town of 1400 people has a craft brewery nearby, excellent Belgian Triple and Golden Ale! La Fucina Brewery (The Forge)
You were my entry into homebrewing knowledge and it helped get me up to speed quick. I love seeing clips from the past, it’s crazy how much content you’ve put out Braj! It would be awesome to send you a recipe with ingredients and see it brewed and critiqued for a vid. A good old fashion mail call🤙🏽
Cool video comparison! So I've been reusing yeast for about 11 months, but kind of a different route then most people would take. I have 2 separate keg kettles, and 2 keg fermenters. Once I have 4 empty corny kegs I brew beer, and while doing so empty the beer from the fermenters to the corny kegs. But I leave the yeast and probably some beer behind in the fermenter. Then I add the wort, and within a few hours the airlock is bubbling. Yes this also means I haven't cleaned the fermenters the entire time. But honestly the beer has turned out great everytime, and I've done lots of variety with hops and grains. Since I brew so much at a time and store the beer in corny kegs I add a dme simple syrup to the corny kegs, just like with bottling. But, I depressurize the kegs before putting them in the kegerator, then hook up the co2 at around 10 pound to pressurize it. Pressure from the yeast and simple syrup can get up there. Sorry for the long post
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE Thanks! Hey another channel I follow showed in a video that she has beer mugs with her logo on it. Might be cool if you had yours on 1 liter beer mugs and/or kolsch glasses
i used the same yeast for NEIPA and Kolsch (because i always try to have them on tap) and felt like it kept getting better. but then when i checked my friend i had yeast from beers i probably would never brew again haha. also on the water side. go to walmart and pick up a RV water filter. i saw martin from homebrew challenge using one and it makes water from the hose bib taste great
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE I'll be in Ashville, NC in late September for almost a week and will give you a heads up in case you happen to be nearby during that time. I'd be more than happy to treat you to a local pint or two.
Just a question, when heating your sparge water which is going into a cooler to then run over the grains. The water that actually goes into the cooler what temp do you usually bring that water up to? Would you say 200 degrees is too high?
I often think about opening a brewery, and then I think about how much I enjoy having a paycheck!! Someday I will have a small brewery to call my own. In the meantime I will just enjoy all the awesome homebrew I make. Cheers!!!
its prolly niave but can i add lactic acid to a lactic magic escarpment yeast that under performed? how much lactic acid can I add to 19L baseline Ph straight from the well to make sour? HELP ME !!!!!
That was really good CH! I always learn something from your vids. A lot of info. My friends had to make a joke when I told them I used Magnum in the beer that they were drinking. Like what's in your fridge, haha. Have a good Hoppy Hour tonight! Cheers!
I always build from RO water when making 5 gallon batches. What I don’t get is why can’t I find a list or guide that tells me how much of each brewing salt to add to for each beer style. Can anyone help me out?
I don't know shit. But I do brew variations of the same recipe every time, and the result is beer. It would be a treat to have Party Time articulate what the flavor profile is, or how it arrives at his nose. LOL. It's better than the swill that comes from the industrial breweries because it tastes like it has a grain bill, and that is how I justify it. Cheers.
Hi, I'm a start-up and I'm afraid to spend a lot of money on business equipment and I wonder if there's a factory in Los Angeles that will help you make beer
All I can say is listen to Homebrew 4 Life… everyone wants to say how to do it better.. but ever since the first “mandatory beer chug” I shared in when I found them while trying to force carbonate my corny keg so I could drink that damn stuff right now, I was sold. (And that’s when I drunkenly hit subscribe).. And they haven’t let me down since. My liver may not be better for it, but that’s a testament to their knowledge! Brew on brothers!

Epic!
My goal with homebrewing is to capture the essence of Commercial on a small scale - so great vid
FIRST!!!
You definitely opened my eyes to BIAB. Used that method for a doppelbock that’s fermenting at about 50 degrees right now.
Lager time!
