I googled the Mumbai Rail and one reason it failed was that land in the densely populated areas was expensive and difficult to get and build on, so the first, very expensive, experimental rail went in a area of cheap land with marshes, very little shops, low population... surprise, surprise, it was too expensive for the locals who didn't need it anyway! Shame, better research and long term planning would have made a huge difference.
I loved this video for the opportunity to get to know monorail systems in different cities, however, of all these trains presented, those that are in Brazil and the United States were the only two that I saw beautiful, they have a very nice appearance. Interesting to know that Bombardier also produced trains, I believed that it only produced airplanes.
I think Alstom bought their rail division (maybe just part of it) but I really hope Alstom keeps making the Monorail and Innovia Metro because they're such clever systems
4:26 "With a train leaving each station every 45 minutes" That's the cause of their failure because 45 minutes is a really long time! I'll compare it to Disney World Monorail, it has another train every 5-10min, I know because I grew up in Orlando, Florida, and rode it all of the time as a kid because my parents always got annual passes. No one wants to wait in the hot sun for up to 45 minutes and that doesn't even include the actual ride time or the walk home, before you know it you're spending 4 hours a day commuting & waiting (2 hours in each direction).
This upsets me, I watched that whole video just looking for the picture that was in the front screen with all the people hanging from the monorail but I didn't see it anywhere in the entire thing I was kind of curious as to why all these people were outside of that monorail and it was actually moving while they were like that but I did not get my answer that's just disappointing!
Bombardier's 7 car trains aren't the first to have passageways between the cars; the Seattle Monorail's original ALWEG cars are open inside, end to end.
Speed is of the essence. Problem is monorails are slow. We have elevated SkyTrain in Vancouver, not monorail, but double track .. can reach much faster speeds.
Compare to what? Typical speed is 80km/h. That is 10-20 faster than fast trams and about the same speed as most metro systems. Only typically full train systems that are faster.
The new transportation of the future 24/7 except sabbath u want less vehicles on ur roads electric or not let roads become sidewalks jogging lanes bike lanes horse lanes people would live longer we stop walking after high school when walking need 2b part of the human life like drinking water
Yeah...I agree. Was looking forward to seeing what the deal was with the people overflowing and/or falling out of the train cars. A real bummer, and I too, *highly dislike* being fooled like this. People who upload a video are *suppose to use* a thumbnail from either the actual video, or one that relates to it.
The thumbnail tho😂😂
I thought exactly the same 😂
I fell in love with the Orlando Disney monorail
Same

I suspect the real reason is why would anyone want to travel from one Mumbai slum to another Mumbai slum
@@forbiddencrisis4149 Not whole Mumbai is a slum. Too much stereotypes
@@forbiddencrisis4149 surprise! It's not built near any slum.
The mumbai mono became successful after the opening of the extended sterch
@@forbiddencrisis4149 here we go... another stereotype person 🤡
Keep watching BBC clown...
Who on earth would think putting an elephant on an elevated monorail was a good idea?

說好的封面圖片呢?
Malaysian the train kl monorail line, 2014 years
So the train in the thumbnail?
50 MPH, not 40 MHP (they go 40 cause of the short distance between stops) and they could go faster if the distance between stops was much longer.
Speed is of the essence. Problem is monorails are slow.
