Formula Drift Japan Sim Practice - Okuibuki Motorpark

- I have been training on Assetto Corsa for Formula Drift Japan for months now and with the FD Japan season approaching I am practicing every competition round on my drift sim, with Round 4 being at Okuibuki Motorpark! Okuibuki is one of the most technical tracks in FDJ with an uphill flick sliding entry and then a big left hand turn with walls all around. It makes for very exciting tandem battles and a great challenge! I drove the Tsujigiri RB27 swapped Nissan S14 Silvia with sequential transmission and Wisefab angle kit since its fairly similar to my IRL drift car, Nissan Skyline R32 with RB30! Next up is practicing for FDJ Round 5 at Okayama International Circuit!

In FD japan I've seen this track claim some cars especially the first outside zone after initiating once you master the entry you gonna be good. i hope u fully master this soon bro I'll be watching 💛❤💙

I think the first time I ever watched Formula D live was Formula D Japan wih this track and Ive seen it claim some cars… now I drift it in the sim and at first I did the same mistakes but now I have it dailed in. Where I make the most mistakes are: The bump over the bridge, the concrete wall and sometimes when I return, I get too wide… maybe I should mention, that I do handbrake entrys at the start, because I feel more comfortable. But I should try flick entrys…
I love all the 90s golden drift spots. They are some of the best mods out there like PCH and LA canyons.

This may sound odd, but have you ever done a video on how FD works? I love the practice runs but im so new to how competitive drifting works that it would be cool to have a "FD for dummies" video explaining it all :D

This looks like a gnarly track. I'm downloading that and the pro cars now, thanks for the link! I've learned a lot in your tips and I may have missed it in a video, but what "impact" on the car does left foot braking do while you're in the gas? Does it help simply slow the car down, or are you doing it to pull more weight off of the rear to pull it out? I don't really use the handbrake, but I'm also coming into turns too slow and I'm trying to find the balance.

Not that im a pro drifter or anything lol but wouldn’t the solo runs/qualifying runs be more important to dial in? Idk if fd japan scores differently but ik fd usa highly prioritizes the lead. While i feel like the chase would be good for learning the correct line to take, wouldnt being able to nail it alone be a little more important? Just my thoughts
Chasing is the hardest part of drifting so for me if I know I can chase we’ll on a track then I’ll be ok. I definitely will be going back and practicing all the tracks a ton more leading up. But I also find that when I chase people it helps me learn the line as well. When I ended the qualifying part I felt like to had learned enough to move on

When you brake and accelerate at the same time during a drift does it make the car go more inside or outside the turn?

On a scale of 1-10 how realistic is the RB27 S14. I use it a lot and I do really well with it but the fact that I do so well makes me think its more unrealistic than the VDC cars though lol.

Can I ask why you blip the clutch quite aggressively during a slide? I'm still learning so take it this helps in some way also the left foot braking I am managing without a handbrake and the moment and no left foot brake lol
