    I am definitely a beginner with colored pencils but I love doing female grayscale portraits and this series of videos is perfect for me! Thank you!

    So I move in the opposite direction. I start with the shadows and contours first, but that is just how I see colors in general (I also color dark to light). Skin will always look a little wonky until lips and eyes and hair are all done, so I usually get the skin close-ish to what I'm picturing and then go back and deepen shadows/adjust highlights once the other areas are done. The only thing I might do differently since it is red hair is used less of the peach tones (Prismacolors tend to be peachy though for skin, while Lumis offer a little more neutral tones), but it is still very beautiful! Lovely highlights and coloring all around.

    I love this tutorial as well. I do have certain feelings where my decisions would have been different, but I do not have much experience coloring skin. Add to that that this isn't finished, there are *so many times* in the coloring process where I have thought, "I don't know if I did this right," only to have it come to life at the finish, so I have to trust your experience--you know where you are going, and I don't. I just know the finish is going to be glorious. Experience is worth it's weight in (favorite art product), so I trust that you know exactly where this will lead. I'm so glad to have even learned the lesson already (mostly through watching other artists' coloring tutorials) that just exactly that part that I most doubt, I will find out that it makes the project breathe at the finish. Trust the process, trust the process, trust the teacher you know has the experience. It is already stunning. Thank you for showing us how this process works. ((The hair makes me yearn to be a bright redhead, wow!!!))

    Hi there Pamela, this is a fabulous tutorial, and just what I'm needing right now as I'm colouring in Christine Karson's Fairies and Fantasy book. I would love you to do more of these tutorials. Although I watch your shopping trips, they aren't of all that interest as I live in Scotland and therefor don't have these stores, I just love your enthusiasm about the products. I really want to learn more about skin, eyes, hair. I would love to have a class with you but my internet connection sometimes lets my zoom meetings down and I have to shut PC down and reboot, so I wouldn't waste your time.
    Having said all this I'm always happy to watch your videos, take care .💖

    I love Mariola Budek's portraits! I've colored about 12 of them (so far), each one with different skin tone combinations, but was afraid to use cream thinking it would make it appear too yellow. Now I'm going to add it to my next skin tone combo. She's coming along beautifully! Can't wait to see how you do the tattoos! Thank you for sharing your talents.

    Pamela she is turning out so pretty. I am one who doesnt like to leave the highlights completely white. Thank you for the tip of using the cream, Ive never tried that but Im going to now. Yasmine is workin that red hair! 😁

    I don’t have this picture yet but I have some of the others, I followed your hair on a different girl. I want to get this one as well but my printer has screwed up it’s putting three black vertical lines up my pictures and I’m having trouble fixing this. Then I’ll get more. Iv been putting the Luminance and Lightfast together still collecting them trying to follow you anyway. I just love Mariola and your doing a great job. I don’t know anything about making videos but thank you for all you do to help us and you are easy to listen to (not everyone is).

    Love this tutorial! I am trying to do this picture as a brunette, a blonde and a redhead. As a fiery redhead I expect her to have a “peaches and cream” complexion, but I am afraid of moving past “peach” to “ruddy” or sunburned. I used a lot more beige and some warm grey. I am considering a little indigo blue in the shadows to tone it down. Am I crazy?

    Hi! Loving the videos. May I make a very small suggestion regarding the eyes. You do green eyes very often. Perhaps violet or a soft amber to blend with her hair?

    • @PamelasPassionforPencils
      @PamelasPassionforPencils  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Soft amber sounds beautiful!! I’ll look at some colors and put something together 💕 Someone else had suggested green and I thought it would really make her pop! Oh and I also thought about something different like teal.

    I have a hard time finding the description list
    You don’t say the color numbers which confuses me.
    For example which beige are you using?
    Then you said brown and I don’t know which brown.
