    Hey man, I just recently stumbled across your channel and I’m so glad I did. I was just thinking about getting into podcasting/blogging my golf rounds and love your style. I was about to do some of my own research on equipment, but I’m so glad I came across this video and particular as it’s really helpful and I appreciate you putting it out there! I hope to someday play round of golf with you. I live in Monterey myself and take advantage of some of the best courses in the world. Thanks for putting such great work into your content you earned a subscriber with me!

      Hey there! Yeah glad you found this helpful 👍 the osmo pocket 3 is a great tool (made a video on it) and it is what I have been using lately for all my videos since Maderas in San Diego. Good luck and have fun 🤙

    Great video as usual. I'm trying out using a GoPro and connecting it to my push cart using a bike handle connector so it's always setup all I have to do it point it in the right direction and start shooting. I found the tripod too awkward to carry around and set up and I was conscious of slowing down the speed of play, I even had people complain that I was slowing them down even though I would set up and then would be waiting for the group in front to finish. Having the option to have extra batteries and ports for microphones is a big plus over using a phone. The biggest roadblock I'm having is finding the time to get out onto the course. Keep up the good work mate.

    Hey! Love this. Do you have the pictures for the set ups? I’ve been wanting to walk more (I think I play better when I do) but don’t wanna carry my gear. Thanks for the insight!

    Great Video - I have been playing with the idea of doing a channel around my journey to improve my golf game and myself in general. Keep up the great content.

      For sure! Best advice is to make the videos for yourself and enjoy the process. If you try to do all of this solely for views you'll burn out quick.

      @@GolfParfection Views are just the bonus. Getting in front of the camera, getting better, and meeting great people is my goal.

    I started my journey completely offline by doing videos “how to play certain golf course “ from pictures by iMovie and keynote. Now as the spring is coming I’m ready to film myself on course. Will see how can I handle both, to play and to film 😊

    You mentioned about not using cinematic mode on ur iPhone to avoid blur on the background. What setup do you use on your GH5ii? Manual focus, or some option from autofocus?

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use aperture mode and leave the camera in f/8.0 so everything is in focus in the background and foreground.

    • @Eebenus
      @Eebenus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GolfParfection So you use manual focus with this aperture setting? I'm currently running Lumix S5iix, there's manual or auto focus options available. Should I use manual focus in your opinion, to avoid blur on the background? Thanks in advance!

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Eebenus still use the autofocus but set the aperture to f/8 is what I do. Ultimately I can't comment super specifics because I don't have the same camera. Best way to find out is go shoot and see what works for you. Iterate on the setup and continually improve over time. Good luck!

    Hey mate, when you used your phone camera to record did you put the gimbal on your bag and let it record continously or manually record every shot?

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I manually recorded every shot and when I was walking it was always with a push cart.

    Hey! appreciate this video...we are about 9 months in and I've been using iPhone SE... I'm looking to be able to zoom and see the ball on approaches... I see the iPhone 14 pro has 3x optical zoom and 4k60.... do you think it would get that done? Also, what lens do you use on the Lumix? and do you ever zoom in on approaches with it?

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm a solo shooter so I don't have the luxury of zooming. If you want to do the zooms like good good and other big channels they use camcorders that have 24x optical zooms so there is that. But even those have trade offs as they aren't as wide so you have to stand a little further back to record a golf scene. For my Lumix I do have a zoom lense but the problem is that it's not parafocal meaning when zooming you'll have to refocus (another benefit of camcorders) so a Lumix mirror less camera with a zoom lens isn't a great option. Hope this helps!

      @@GolfParfection I appreciate the response! Best wishes as you continue on the journey! Thinking I may just upgrade iPhones, shoot in 4k and use the zoom it has just for the mobility. I also really like the monopod/tripod you suggested... will basically any 2.5 pound weight keep it stable, even on a side hill?

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So the tripod/monopod that I listed as small notches on the legs (unless they changed the design) and you just need to lock one of the legs at a steeper angle than the other two and then it handles all hills that I have been on. With the weight and notched leg locks no wind or hill has bested my setup. Just have to be quick with it and you'll be good! I also agree with the iphone choice not a scratch golfer uses an iphone which goes to show it's plenty capable.

    How long would it take you to edit a video when you started vs now?

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First starting out I could finish a 18 hole course vlog in an afternoon (~4 hours) with tracers and iMovie. Now it's a longer 6+ hour ordeal with my MacBook and final cut pro per video and sometimes more if it's a scramble or I'm doing a lot of talking.

  • @AR_Sands

    That can’t be the right monopod
