Stallion was a hidden gem years ago. Glad to see they are bringing it back. For a non resident, golf now is the only way. Paiute is worth it, if you can get a reasonable wind day. Any course in Vegas is ok. Desert golf is desert golf. The high end courses just manicure the courses, but it's still desert golf. By the way that's a place we might end up retiring to, so I've played a lot out there.
I played this course when my wife had a conference at Cesar's. I took an Uber out and had a decent round. I liked the course enough to buy a souvenir ball, but I liked Chimera a little more. In Vegas, Golfnow is your friend.
The last time I played golf in Vegas was over 20 years ago. I can’t imagine what green fees are now. I played Paiute a few times and really liked it. Played Rio Secco. That is one of those courses you have to play at least once. I think it was over $300 back then but has some gorgeous holes and views. For some reason I don’t remember any homes around the course but current pictures show an entire community surrounding it.
@@GolfParfection Yup. It’ll be interesting to see what Corica in Alameda will be charging to play the full 18 holes of the north course when it opens soon. Before both remodels I think the north course green fees were higher than the south. Have fun out there!
vegas is a golf city with a ton of good golf to go around. 2 “hidden gems” you’d get a good bang for your buck with good quality of golf is at the local muni LV golf club and club at sunrise.
I will start by saying that travel golf, unless driving to the location,is expensive. With that in mind I did not factor in the car rental, Golf travel bag, and cost for flying with my clubs. I did golf in February and I believe this is considered peak time for Vegas. I paid 140 for Angel Park and 145 for Rhodes Ranch. Both of those courses were in great shape and felt like the price was par for the course (pun intended) I do believe that Vegas is price gouging and it sucks but when it comes to vacations I am not necessarily thinking about the dollar if it is a course that is recommended to me or has a lot of great reviews. FYI. Played the Rogue clubs in Maui and not a bad set. Love the video. Looking forward to the next one.
I’ve only played Bali Hai in Vegas. Smack in the middle of everything and very expensive, but I really enjoyed it! I’d agree with you that Vegas is not a golf destination l, I’d much prefer to take a golf trip to Mesquite or St George which is just a short drive away.
Out of town prices are bad (even resident pricing has gone up 20-30%). Bring your clubs and play Paiute (Snow or Wolf), Arroyo, Bear's Best, and maybe Rio Secco. Everything else are usually older, masterplan housing community courses.
GP - what do you use to track your shots? I'm just getting into golf and I'm all over the place, and sometimes nicely consistent. It'd be great to track the shots and debrief myself. Thanks!
Unfortunately there's a wide spectrum of quality in the golf courses out here. Some courses are maintained very well year round and some of them are quite reasonable. Rhodes Ranch is my local and I've never had bad conditions there.
It’ll get worse here with price and availability as they remove courses for public play. Bears best is going private and dessert pines is gone being replaced by housing and primm valley is going to be an RV park. And they are not allowed to build any more courses here.
That is a bummer to hear. So weird to me courses are closing even though golf is more popular than ever. It’s too expensive to run them in general and at some point ppl are going to break if the prices get too high!
@@GolfParfection you are right. after covid, so many people are golfing now. i am just surprised so many visitors are willing to pay $300+ to golf here in vegas. but like you said at some point people will break if it goes higher
Vegas is great for golf, but there are at least two dozen courses better than what you played at. If the golf absolutely needs to be cheap, at least go to Vegas National. It was a tour location that Tiger won at back in the day, and they filmed part of Casino in a house off the course. At least you'll get some history on each tee box that will help you ignore the terrible course conditions.
Oh definitely there are way better tracks than the one I played I’m sure. There is a reason it was wide open and I was able to get a tee time in the AM on a Saturday. Thanks for the info about Vegas National 👍
Golf this time of year is so overpriced here in Vegas , I cannot justify it as a local and not only that you are having rounds they take at least 5 hours
Stallion Mountain is on my 86 list…too bad because I like the track but the conditions of the course are not worth the price…been in lousy conditions for years now…much better value in town…
Birdies always taste better when you’re on vacation 👍

Not a bad place to retire!
@GolfParfection My kids live in LA, so good location and hot weather is good for old age golf. 😂
I enjoy golfing in Vegas. I have friends there so they book our tee times. I usually use golf now for deals if needed.
Me and the boys went to a Vegas golf trip and we loved it. Played Angel Park, Paiute and Sienna. All great except for the 114 degree weather lol
Love it! I was tempted to play a 2nd course that day but couldn’t make it happen. Angel Park was also on my list!

A lot of people recommending golf now!

Will keep those courses in mind! I feel you on the prices though it seems like it’s gotten more and more expensive everywhere and not just Vegas 👍

Wolf creek in Mesquite is a must when near the Las Vegas area
🙏
Arcade golf
Los Prados is an off strip value course. It is short but narrow with challenging greens.
Good to know!
Angel Park feels like a great value in Vegas. Big fan.
Definitely was one on my list! But I had to pick a tee time super early in the morning and Stallion Mountain was wide open.

The cost of golf, is too dang high!

Paiute is a common suggestion in this comment section alone! It’ll be on my list if I ever get the chance to play in Vegas again 👍
Mesquite Nevada that little town has 8 golf courses .
Sounds like a place I need to visit!
GP - what do you use to track your shots? I'm just getting into golf and I'm all over the place, and sometimes nicely consistent. It'd be great to track the shots and debrief myself. Thanks!
Shot tracer pro on Mac 👍
Oh wait, got confused I track my shots on course with Arccos 👍
i played with rental clubs once. Royal Hawaiian golf club. Brought 18 balls with me. Lost 16 of them by hole 9...
Sometimes it’s not about the score but the balls we lost along the way??? 😂

Bro how come you didnt hmu? I got clubs, local rate and way better spots than stallion!. Ill be in the bay soon but its too rainy rn.

Paiute is always solid but wind will add to the difficulty!
I am awful in the wind 😂

Got lucky and played early but unfortunately everywhere that is popular is almost guaranteed a 5 hour round these days.
Vegas golf is expensive. Playing tpc Las Vegas tomorrow. Brought my clubs. It’s 200 tomorrow 300 + on the weekends
Let’s go! Have a good one out there 🤙
@@GolfParfection thanks brother, playing good golf of late so I plan on representing for us bay boys
We get a rental car. Paiute
Living in California, Palm Springs or San Diego would probably be overall better than Vegas Price and Course Wise
Palm Springs is a golfers paradise!
I lived in Palm Desert for 25+ years, currently live in Vegas. Golf post Covid is expensive everywhere including Palm Springs.
Rent from vip golf services. Plenty of options at a great price.
Good to know 🙏

Yeah the conditions were not great. I can’t believe they were even worse a few months back and at that point I would have been upset haha.
