I remember when I didn't know much about metal, I even referred to the genre as "heavy rock". Well, searching the internet for heavy rock bands (what an idiot) I came across a yahoo recommendation for Children of Bodom. They were my entry into the most extreme metal; my personality received a permanent influence since then. Thanks Alexi, your voice was the first intense scream I heard in my life and back then I was immediately fascinated. You are the reason why I have a taste for gutturals like Arch Enemy’s or Insomnium’s today when before know you I did not tolerate that style.
Good story man! I was 11 or 12 years old when my cousin told me about this band. Year was 2001 or 2002. He described that they are the coolest motherfuckers ever and world class talent. Few days later after he had told me about children of bodom i bought Follow the reaper on CD and i was instantly hooked. Greatest band Ever for me.
Also, they are the reason why I am such a big fan of Melodic Deah Metal today. Blooddrunk is my favorite album followed by Something wild. Good memories my friend.

I still remember when this album dropped. I was a newer COB fan thanks to my best friend at the time. He introduced me to them around Halloween time, so I always associate COB with Halloween. Shortly after this album dropped, they came through my state here in the US back in 2013, and it remains one of the best shows I've ever seen. Wish I could've seen them more than once.
This song remainds me of the "Are you dead yet" and "Follow the Reaper" era wich are my 2 favorite COB Albums.I´m pretty stoked for the new Album right now.

Алекси был нереально крут, чем так плотно заниматься гитарой без оглядки, пусть бы чуть меньшего достиг, но дольше бы прожил. Насчет песни - всё же в первых альбомах они самое крутое своё сыграли. То же можно сказать и о Кипелове/Арии, после распада музыка стала более качественной, но менее душевной и натуральной. Потому что на деньги больше ориентира в зрелости.

People keep complaining about them not sounding like thier old stuff, which is ironically GETTING REALLY FUCKING OLD HEARING ABOUT IT about every damn band in existence older than a decade.
Instead of focusing on what this music has, people are focusing more on what it doesnt have, this music is still awesome guys, this isnt like In Flames where the sound is unbelievably vastly different from what they used to do, Bodom still rocks, despite Alexi being a stone statue on live stage, he is still one of the best guitarists and writers in metal today.
Everybody complains when bands change their sound or the complain they always sound the same.. like what you like and give no fucks what others think. I personally love this

***** I just find that 90% of their new material is not interesting. dont get me wrong I love the band and Im an absolute laiho fanboy, but I just feel like their sound is getting stale. I know musicians are supposed to evolve their sound however I find that their sound is devolving into a less mature less interesting mess.

I will tip my hat to the heavier vocals, but the slow pace and lack of anything new and or amazing was a downer for me.
I know that Bodom cannot and will not make music like something wild again, however i was just not impressed in this offering
i resign to the fact that like other amazing bands eg Dimmu Borgir, Cradle, Deicide, Cannibal corpse, metallica, Megadeth, Alice cooper and many many more

Bro I like CoB very much since my 14,and yes each album is different,but after Hate Crew,only Blooddrunk was for me quite acceptable,and thats little.Blooddrunk was powerfull and full of simple melodies,and good for me to listen in car for example.Relentless was for me like Bloodrunk worse b-side,and Are You Dead is too much heavy and withou CoB ligh melodic feeling.And Im expecting first league metal from CoB,and their present music since Hate Crew,is for average,accorindg to ratios of CoB.:)
I must say Halo of Blood song is much better then Tranference.But still i miss old CoB feeling,but yes with Halo of Blood song,hope for good CoB album grows...But how can band take for a single the most average think on album,like they say in inteview..If the band knows,that they wrote average song,something isn't all right....
Más bien al revés, ¿no? CoB empezaron antes que Norther. Ambas bandas provienen de donde mismo, así que no sorprende cierta similitud entre dichos artistas. No obstante, cada quien posee su propio sello distintivo. Pero claro, siempre te toparás con comparaciones, y más en especial con Wintersun o Kalmah. Que también son muy buenas bandas, mas nunca entiendo el afán de compararles. Pero bueno, cada quien... Saludos.
