My fake f1 was almost identical. Big difference was obviously no vg-1 lamination line. Otherwise identical. Sounds like the quality of fakes is declining. I bought my fake several years ago for about $10.

Surely the reason most knifemakers don't sharpen the spine is opinion is split, many don't like the sharp spine for prolonged use as it becomes uncomfortable. Therefore leave the choice to the buyer as sharpening a spine is an easy process. If you look at the Lion B40 the spine is rounded but the handle has a glass breaker type lanyard extension with a sharpened edge for using with a ferro rod.

@@DutchBushcraftKnives it's awesome! I've only ever used the old bark river compound before for stropping and this is easier and feels like it hones faster. I am considering getting the larger strop for home use and putting the smaller one in my pack.

    Unpopular opinion ....
Chinese clones are generally so successful because ...
    1. Many companies outsource production to China anyway
    2. Unless its VERY high-end its hard to spot the difference
    3. Amazon routinely peddles fakes anyway
    4. These fakes get reviewed and set the standard.
    5. Many of these clones are coming out of the exact same factories where the GENUINE knives were covertly outsourced to.
I have knowingly bought a few "clone" knives to test them out and they are "good enough".
They are half the quality for 10% of the price.
    Dont judge me.
One of the most expensive knives I ever bought was "100% Made in Canada".
I later found out that they outsourced production to China and it was pot metal.
It was 100% "packaged in Canada".
These clones are so prevalent because most of these factories are tooled-up for off-shoring production, and thats why they have the designs.
Once the contract was over they just kept pumping them out.
    Amazon certainly doesnt care.

It’s not recommended to use the spine on a Fällkniven for the same reason it’s not sharp. Since it’s laminated, the softer outer layers can not be used repeatedly to scrape things, as they will damage more quickly than other steels. But you guys know this and still use Fällkniven knives to scrape firesteels because you’re bloody madlads.

you really seem to like the Fällkniven knives and so do i.
And you also seem to like the Enzo blades and so do i, too.
So why haven't you reviewed the 'Enzo badger' yet. It has got the Enzo geometry combined with a Fällknive-like convex blade. For me it makes the perfect compromise between those producers and a great bushcraft knife.
There are just a few reviews out there and virtuovice, that japanese guy you probably know, loves it, too!

Also, in English "VS" is an abbreviation for the word "VERSUS" (pronounced "versez"). So, don't say "vee ess", say, "versez". Just a little English tip from an English Grammar Nazi.

I am a big fan of your channel, and my day is always better when I come home to watch / rewatch your vids. When I got dumped on Valentine’s day, this channel brought me so much joy back. If possible, is there anyway you have an old Falkiven S1 Pro or F1 Pro or A1 Pro, that you would be willing to part with for a cheap knife price, like under $50?
