St Leonard’s Churchyard, Old Langho, Lancashire
A rare church from the reign of Queen Mary I
The Old Church at Langho was completed in 1557, making it a true rarity, as very few churches were constructed during the reign of Mary I (1516-1558).
While I was fortunate to come across a few graves dating back to the 1700s, it is the Brockhall Hospital cemetery section, with its unmarked interments of ashes, that truly leaves a profound impression.
