Hello, just came across this video this morning about 8 AM, and now at noon I cooked this recipe and it is DELICIOUS!!!!!!! It makes a big difference to drain the water and add the broth. The liquid smoke not only gives the greens a good taste, but it has given my house a nice aroma!!! Thank you for giving me a new way of cooking my greens.

My husband is African American and he loves collard greens and he told me the other day that he was craving his late grandma’s collard greens recipe so at my grocery shopping day I made sure I got some greens to make my hubby 😊 I never made them before and am braving myself so I came to TH-cam for help and your video was the first one that came up. We only eat halal meat and where we live we don’t get halal since it’s a rural farming community so the fact your recipe doesn’t call for meat I knew I had to attempt to try to make it. I’ll get the bouillon and the liquid smoke tomorrow and make it. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

I had used Smoked Turkey necks in my greens. I’m on a healthy journey so I reduced my sodium intake. The Liquid Smoke is very low in sodium. I used your instructions and the Collard greens turned out great. Excellent job with the instructions! Thank you so much. 😀
Yeah my family always used smoked turkey instead pork but I try to stay away from meat as much as I can. Also my boyfriend is vegetarian sooo yeahh lol I'm so glad you enjoyed it😊❤

When I made my meatless collard greens. I first cut onions and red bell pepper, garlic and vegetables Better Than Bouillon and olive oil and sauté vegetable in pot first than put your collard greens on top turn and sauté collard greens with the mixed vegetables that on the bottom that’s already sautéd as you are turning your greens as they are cooking down on low burner. Than mixes water and more Vegetables Better Than bouillon broth and let cook. It was delicious. I may have to try the smoked liquid next time or add it to the greens that I have. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe 😘
Manda, listeeeennnnn! This was oh-so-good, sis!!! I've never made greens before, and now I feel like a pro! Had it with some leftover cornbread, white rice, and some ackee and saltfish. A southern-Jamaican mix that got me over here like YES LAWD!! Thank you so much!

Fly girl I love this!!! I don't eat meat and I recently moved to the south, Mississippi. I never had a lot of this kind of food and stayed away because of the added bacon and beef and all that stuff, like even vegetables aren't vegetarian. Thank you for sharing this recipe! I love dark green vegetables and would cook mine pretty basic. Finally, some fancy flavor that everyone can enjoy. I especially love that you mention your momma took a liking to it, you know you're good when you have that stamp of approval
Aww thank you🥰🥰 And yes that is sooo true!! So many restaurants cook their vegetables or even beans with meat/meat fat. So I really wanted to come with something that doesn't involve that and would still be flavorful😊 Let me know how you like it if you try it!

I used your recipe for Thanksgiving yesterday. It turned out great! I only used 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke-- my boyfriend told me to only use a teaspoon-- so I compromised with 2 T-- so yummy-- thank you for sharing this recipe!
Very nice! Thank you! I cooked my collards by blanching them first and then freezing so they wouldn't go bad in the fridge before Thanksgiving. I pretty much cook them the way you do, by sauting onions, garlic, then add my collards, vegetable broth, and seasonings. I use garlic powder, onion powder, real salt, pepper and smokey BBQ Coconut Aminos seasoning sauce. Now I forgot all about the cornbread!
Nice idea with blanching them! Honestly sometimes I cook and and then freeze my greens for another time. The smokey bbq coconut amino seasoning sound good where did you get it?
@@MandaAndrea From Trader Joe's. I'm vegan too and use this as a salad dressing as well with cumin, smoked paprika, lime juice, cilantro and olive oil.

Well I would really like to do this recipe except I'm not a cook and I've never cooked greens before my life. The only thing preventing me is I need more detailed instructions. Lol!! It's hard to stop eating it for sure! Sooo glad you are enjoying them🥰
Well I would really like to do this recipe except I'm not a cook and I've never cooked greens before my life. The only thing preventing me is I need more detailed instructions. Like how long did you boil them for and wasn't for a full boil I think it was but just more details. This recipe is for people that know how to cook but it could be for somebody like me if it was like, 'collared for dummies".
Hey! I made some collard greens in a crockpot recently I think this may be the way for you😉 ingredients and instructions listed in the description box of this video here: th-cam.com/users/shorts3l9uq2Q0NAk?feature=share
This recipe is the best! And I’m super picky about my collards! Thank you!
