Hello Brian, nice lesson as usual. Just a remark about the F and F#dim7, I think Clapton plays it by starting indeed with a F triad from D string 3rd fret, then he just shift one finger on D string 4th fret to get F#dim7, it creates a smooth voice leading motion. But the most important this a masterclass of how to play/target chord tone in a solo, this video is a method for life.
Stellar video! I really like the breakdowns on how solos fit over the chord progressions. It makes it a lot easier for me to grasp and apply to my playing! Great job😊
Brian, this lesson is sooo goood! We have been given so many tools in our arsenal, but learning actual songs, now teaches us how to use those tools. Thank you so much. We actually may know more than we think we do. Would love to see more songs like this dissected. I don’t yearn for Berkeley, I attend the Kelly school of music.
great lesson brian, i used to play this years ago, love the chromatic walkdowns changing keys, plus the D7 is wanting to resolve to the G7, then the G7 wants to resolve to CMaj, maybe you good talk more about what's happening there, another awesome lesson, thanks
@@dickie7311 you may want to look into "Secondary Dominants". I made a video about that here: th-cam.com/video/8Vbkt9ZBwss/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ROA6MG60d-38mqaA
Those dominant 7th chords are actually secondary dominants. This song is a very common I-vi-IV-V progression. Before each chord, you just add its secondary dominant.
Brian, I wish your guitar neck presentation on your video was for a right-handed guitar. By the way, what software are you using? Your guitar sounds amazing.
Great lesson, I have been on vacation for two weeks and am missing playing , I know a-lot about what you explained but I need to go over it about 50 more times to get it to be part of me. Going to check out your blues lessons .
WOW great to see you back man! You speak to people so well. Thank man.
Love these breakdown lessons, great job as always.
Great explanation and example of why the fundamentals are important. Thanks Brian!
One of my alltime favorite song's solo as an example to explain how and why targeting certain cord tones.
Awesome video.
Sounding good Brian !
OUTSTANDING Work

Yup, but this was about analyzing the leads 🎸
