Hi Chris I'm a retired bench joiner the side of the chisel is called a landing ,I have lots of chisels my personal favourites are ward cast steel chisels followed by marples shamrock and stanley 5001
Thanks for watching and comment. I’m near retirement but still learning I didn’t know the side of a chisel had a name.👍.I remember the old guys I served my time with having those chisels brings back a lot of memories. 👍
Nice overview. I just had some basic plastic handle Stanley chisels, which were fine for occasional household DIY. Now that I've started getting interested in fine woodworking, I picked up a set of Narex Premium chisels. I'm really pleased with them so far. What did you use to cover the handles?
Thanks for watching and comment. The Nerex premium are very nice and imo probably the best and most practical for most people. The covering on my chisels is designed for fishing rod handles and is great for improving the grip of a handle and protecting it from damage I have a video on this with a link on where to buy.👍

Thinking back my first set of chisels were Stanley 5002 bevel edge blue handles. I used them for years long since worn out.👍
