Then the substitute starts building up their own improv bit by going off the script of the roll sheet, calling out names which belong to none of the kids in your class, which kind of feels like being introduced to all of Amanda's characters.
I feel like Olivia's best humour niche is when she's sarcastically exaggerating someone else's character. She's done Augustus, Kimber, and now Sarah Christ and they were all insanely good. She's really good at, like, doing a parody of a parody.

Benoit blanc wouldn't even dignify himself with a murder case where the random background character is the culprit. Its actually a rule in whodunnits to not do that, often just shortened to "dont have the butler do it" but it applies to any minor character whos just in the scene.

So there 2 sets of rules that generally people try to go by knox's decalogue or van dines commandments, van dine mostly replaces knox but some rules aren't in van dine to try to stop these tropes. They're stuff like dont have the only minority be the killer, dont have the detective be the killer, no magic, etc "the butler did it" is one of van dines no-no's but it applies to any minor character who is either too obvious or too boring to be the killer such as a character who is just there to fill a seat/a bit.
@ratdoller77 The mystery movie Mindcage broke one of these rules and it completely ruins the movie, not that it was that great to begin with. There's literally no way of figuring out who the killer is, and how they're doing it, even though the writer/director left "clues" throughout the movie.

I agree! I think she's just (weird but also) not so much a skilled improviser as she is a skilled actor. Smosh has really shifted toward improv and unscripted stuff, which is fine, but when you haven't seen it for a bit it's easy to forget how good Olivia is with scripted/prepared content.

Dude, Shayne's bit was fantastic, not only was it funny, not only did he make an awesome impression, AND not only did he put a spin on the "who's that guy!" joke, but he also made the whole scene engaging and feel like the end of a detective movie!
I spent this video wondering what sort of character Shayne was going to play based on his outfit, but much like the great detective himself, I couldn't see the whole picture till the final, crucial clue. That clue being the way he said "My God". Instantly, it all fell into place. Masterful. More Shayne as Benoit Blanc please.
The best part of this roast is Lisa saying "I have legs", like people who can't walk don't have legs. That was the funniest accidental joke of this roast.

This was one of my favourite roasts so far omg Shayne and Olivia’s impression were IMPECCABLE! Amanda saying Tommy was like a mom with a long landline cord was so specific yet completely accurate and I would give ANYTHING for her to do an impression of me now 😂
The fact that these keep getting better and better is truly a work of art, even Olivia has really found her niche here, Tommie was on point as usual, the bridesmaid Heapther had me rolling and Shayne's twist at the end was truly legendary, Not to mention Amanda's SPOT ON impression descriptions. These are just my highlights but everyone else brought their A game too.

This is actually one of my favorite funerals. The Impressions were great all around, and I liked Amanda's take on everyone there The last few minutes flew right by!
Amanda's impressions captured the very essence of each person in such an impressive way. You could even tell they were shocked at the realness cutting to their core. There's genius there.

The fact that these keep getting better and better is truly a work of art, even Olivia has really found her niche here, Tommie was on point as usual, the bridesmaid Heapther had me rolling and Shayne's twist at the end was truly legendary, Not to mention Amanda's SPOT ON impression descriptions. These are just my highlights but everyone else brought their A game too.

How is it possible that every funeral video just gets better and better with every episode? Also Shane's Benoit? Soooo freaking on point and soooo well written! Also the fact that he stayed in character and didn't broke! AMAZING! ❤️ And it's so funny that "Who's that guy" finally got its end. Feels a bit like a Goodbye to Patrick since he won't be recurring anymore 😢

Amanda's impressions captured the very essence of each person in such an impressive way. You could even tell they were shocked at the realness cutting to their core. There's genius there.

Shayne playing detective and us finally knowing “Who the hell is that guy” bit was the best.
I love that Shayne described everything the sax guy was doing, not only because he knew it would made the bit funnier, but also bc he's a kind friend and wanted to describe everything for Amanda who had her eyes closed.

i was PRAYING amanda would be next! she has my favorite sense of humor of the bunch. i adore how hard she commits to her characters in both TNTL and the other funeral skits, its very admirable.
