It's nice to give someone props but then sometimes I find myself feeling a hair inadequate, maybe wishing I was them.. but I never dwell long, no point in it, just have to create my own version of legend. Which really where I come from I did over 20 years ago. But local ain't the same
This lineup is legit as good as it gets live, they’ve been playing a long time together now, Mikey/dean in band 16yrs now, Troy 20yrs and Jon a decade, their chemistry is just incredible. One of if not the best live bands out there, their festival shows are unmatched sound wise too.
The one thing I take from seeing this, is after the interviews I've watched of Josh lately, especially the neil brennan one. hes really healing after the last 5 years and is so happy to be playing live again. look at the gratitude at the end of the set. fucking hell that was a hell of a performance of SFTD. Saw them at Margate a couple of weeks back and was just as epic.

@@charbelmoussawer2107 I agree. Every album has it's own fell and groove. The first two albums remind me of early Nirvana with the drumming that's not great, but VERY unique. Some of my favorite songs are pre-Dave, like Auto Pilot, In The Fade, If Only. All songs with very understated unique drumming. Dave introduced the power drummer to their sound and Joey continued that. But Jon Theodore just has a special place in my heart because of De-Loused in the Comatorium and One Day As A Loin. He's just a master of being in the pocket and the groove, AND power. Total package.
Watched them (on tv) at glastonbury a few weeks ago, absolute masterclass of a live rock performance. They are all at the peak of their powers as musicians, the best live band there is for me right now. Cant wait to see them in person again at Manchester this November for the end is nero ☺
They don’t fuckin miss, the chemistry of this lineup is fuckin godly too, Jon is the most recent member and he’s already been in the band a decade, Mikey and dean 16 yrs and Troy 21. These guys playing together is just magical and a true beauty to watch. Long live QOTSA, doesn’t get better than them live.
@@mwl78rwe yup, in the earlier years there was a lot of coming and going around Josh but they really found their stable lineup when they hired Mikey and dean in 2007, those 2 along with Troy and Josh obviously are a great unit together and then adding a stellar drummer like Jon a decade ago and Josh finally found that stable lineup that would be together man years. It shows in their live playing too they’ve been absolutely incredible lately
The drummer is insanely good. It is not just the way he plays it tight, but the swing, the power, the complex patterns without hesitation, switching back and forth between styles if necessary. Wow.
F me mate. Saw them at this gig live that day, now rewatching it feels like it was yesterday they rocked the absolute shit out of Pinkpop. Instant goosebumps. It was my first time seeing them live as well, safe to say: money well spent...
Im getting massive Bowie sound/influence in Carnavoyer , it sounds fantastic here live, saw em like a week ago for the 9th time. Legendary band by this point.
07:04 that's the most important part of the show. The new blood. They will carry the torch. There's still hope for rock and roll. And: we'll never forget you, Mark Lanegan.
Deze band...deze mannen...wat een muziek...strakke gitaren...heerlijke drums...mickey shoes en josh homme voor mij in het bijzonder...!! Wat een giganten....dank Eric corton dat jij ze voorstelde toen ze nog niet bekend waren
Saw them in Toronto back in 2018 with Royal Blood as the opening act. I've been to a million shows and this was maybe the best one. Amazing band to see live (royal blood too).
Somehow, they've gotten... better live! Genuinely didn't think that was possible, but what an inspiration to see how far fine tuning, hard work and creativity can take something. True greatness.

Totally blew my mind off the map at Stage AE in Pittsburgh. I had to see them last minute at Anthum Theatre in Washington DC by myself. They are great live. New album is a major classic.
I can not properly describe just how much I love this song. Carnavoyeur has become one of my favorite songs of all time. I only wish Bowie could've heard it.
I have seen them twice one in 2003 and then again later with NIN tour. I didn't actually want to see them the second time. I was there purely for NIN and they were supporting act or vice versa. I can say I'm happy I stayed to see them play a second time. Homme knows his stuff and how to put on a show as with his band members.
This band has aged like a fine wine! Just when you think it was already really good, the years seasoned them and it got even better! This lineup with Jon is the best since Dave and Nick were in the band. And of course, R.I.P Mark
If you even consider them chords Song for the Dead is 2 chords, apart from the breakdowns and even they maintain the hook! Absolute Banger! ZZ Top levels of Simplicity!
We'll always miss Mark Lanegan at SFTD, but Josh delivers an unique performance.
R.I.P. Mark.
yeah ol' scratch was great.
I have an autographed copy of Blues Funeral which is super precious to me. It's a sadder world without Mark Lanegan😥 💚💚
Didn't knew he died, so sad, RIP.
Mark helped lift a fallen mixing desk of my leg back stage at Glasgow Garage many years ago, seemed a nice chap.Boring but true.
Josh is awesome but this needs Mark’s vocals,it’s his song
Josh looks so fucking cool. The hair, beard, earring and the new jacket just fits him so goddamn well. What a legend.

Carnavoyer is an instant classic. Actually, the whole album is fantastic.
That's so true!!!

The more u listen...the better it gets!
Made to Parade is the only thing that isn't infinitely listenable, and its still amazing.
love the made to parade outro@@seraph82
I don’t know how it’s possible that they’ve improved their live show, since they were already legend status, but it’s true. God tier✨
I am SOOOOO excited to see them in October (in SF, CA, USA)!!

With all respect to Grohl. John Theodore is a beast!!
@@thetylerfish9089both are great ;)
Exactly! Do you know how good you have to be to be that good! 🤘
These gents deserve to headline every festival that they bless us with. The best live band since '98. It doesn't matter who is in the lineup.
A song for the dead is still one of the greatest rock songs written in the last 25 years
Don't forget about God is in the radio 😉
😊
Holy mother of god the moment when Songs for the Dead kicks in is almost heavy enough to generate a black hole
Gotta love that crowd. Mosh looks like the black hole sucking in the zombie horde
This band, Josh especially, ages like fine wine. Always putting out great music and still performing at a high level
I honestly cant believe that his new album of theirs is so good. I have listened to it like 20 times and it just feels like so good
I totally agree!!!

Nothing like the moment the sun sets at a festival, especially when Song for the Dead is playing. What a vibe
Nothing, nothing
Nothing inside
There's no reason to cry
Just fade away, like love
Clutching, hanging by a nail in this life
Desperate always, always looks that way
Free fall from the nest, then glide to the left
A shine catch the eye, so flow to the right
Flying high, realize, there are no more mountains to climb
And there's nothing l can do
Accept enjoy the view
When there's nothing l can do, I smile
Minutes, seconds, so little time
Give your secrets away
Well, whisper in my ear
Every living thing will die
From the king of the jungle to butterfly
Only sin is waiting too long
When there's nothing I can do, I smile
I smile, I
Free fall from the nest, then glide to the left
A shine catch the eye, so float to the right
Flying high, realize, there are no more mountains to climb
We live, we die
We fail, we rise
I'm a vulture so I hear goodbyes
There's no end to life
On and on, always life
Life, always life
TY
Carnavoyeur gives me chills
Fantastic song
Gorgeous song.
Application to be a member in QOTSA:

Jon Theodore, the best QOTSA drummer.. And the best Mars Volta drummer.. And the best One Day As A Lion drummer.
Dave Grohl disagrees. 😂

They take pride in every note and it shows.
Best Queens song, hands down
No one can sing it like Mark. Josh does a different job entirely of it, sounds great.
