Im confused ( not your showing and telling you) so i'm watch you again and eventually get this! Thank you and I LOVE flying geese- love your quilt behind you- YES!❤- I'll try again🥰❤️
Hooray! I have a pattern w migrating geese but couldn't figure out how to do them (well, I could figure a way but it was so screwy I thought, "that cannot be right"!). Thanks for the help. You have a very nice presentation and a very pleasant voice.
Love it, I have seen so many trimmers lately. I do not like when half of the fabric is cut too small to reclaim. Thank-you for believing quilters can do this, of course we can, it isn't rocket science as my sister says. As a long time sewer, when I started quilting, I already knew enough to do accuracy. I have been doing french braids without trimming. Thanks again.
I had a cousin that was killed in an auto accident 5 years ago and she was a quilter, much better than I am. She had completed an elk center panel for a king-sized quilt and I've been recruited to finish her quilt. I took the panel to my quilt group the other day for suggestions, one of the ideas was flying geese, I immediately thought about these geese, the elk also has an Ohio star on him, so this border would be great. Thanks for this video.
I was excited to find the technique sheet at my favourite quilt shop the day I found this amazing video! Thank you Deb Tucker for making quilting so easy and precise! ❤
What perfect timing! I am looking t do borders on a flying geese quilt and have not had much success with the traditional method. This Migrating Geese border will be perfect. Thank you!
I have Deb's hunter star template and it really makes that block so simple and always perfect. I have ordered additional kinds of templates to make different blocks too. Her videos are so helpful and easy to understand.
explanation, demo is so easy to understand -- always precise, clean & clear and turns out so perfectly! ( lots of useful info in this particular video.)
Buenas tardes.
Darn, After making all my flying geese and adding to my border strips it didn't work. There was no 1/4" allowance on either side of the flying geese strips which resulted in losing the geese wing tips. So disappointing.
I just love the tips and techniques you supply. I have many of the rulers and just love the quilts behind you so my question is do you have a book with the recipes for them?
Thank you, the quilt in the background is called Atlantic Flyway and you can find the pattern here: studio180design.net/products/atlantic-flyway?_pos=1&_sid=0ed66f146&_ss=r If you have any other questions please let me know.
Yes, we have our Tucker Trimmer for them. You can find it here: deb-tuckers-studio-180-design.myshopify.com/products/tucker-trimmer-1?_pos=3&_sid=0c711521d&_ss=r
I bought your technique sheet for the Migrating Geese. I plan on incorporating it into my husband’s Quilt of Valor. Does the 10-1/2” block make up as 10-1/2” square? I don’t want to waste fabric trying to figure it out.
To make this into a square you can only have 3 "geese" high. This was mainly designed to be borders so we don't have a true grasp on turning it into a square. I would try it out with scrap fabric first to make sure it will work as you want it to.
I am not sure what you mean by this? This is a precision technique and so you have to cut the squares exactly the size listed in the table and not oversize them. You might need to check your 1/4" seam or double-check where you are marking and pinning your match points to bring the width in our out depending on what you need.
Question: Is the pattern for the quilt that is shown as the backdrop in the Migrating Geese video tutorial available from this site (or any other, if known)?
Just bought the technique sheet. I have a pattern where I need to make 8 of these strips. They used a different method and it's AWFUL. Seriously considering re-buying fabric and re-cutting THOUGH I think I might be able to "math" my way outta this - LOL
Ten year old video, how am I just now seeing this one pop up. Great video and thanks so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us.

Hello how are you doing ?
What to do when sewing flying geese together and I’m off in my measurements

Do you have a download available for this?
