- We get too busy with other things to go fishing as often as we'd like, but on this sunny September day, we put all else aside and made the 30-mile drive to Garabaldi on Tillamook Bay.
Serious salmon fishers go out early. I guess we're not serious, because we don't get going until the day begins to warm. But we have fun, and we occasionally catch fish. Well, maybe not 'we'.

So good to see you folks out on the water... I watched you build this wonderful craft years ago. My boat is always available if you ever get down to Coos. Plenty of room and a relaxing time to crack a beer on the Bay.

First time we put out crab pots, one was gone when we got in from fishing. We noticed while heading out that there were two other pots near our two. When we came back, the only on left was one of ours, clearly marked with our ID. About fifty yards off was a lone pot, no ID. I figure that one either got dragged off or otherwise displaced. I figure the owner came back, saw three, and took two.
I don't put down crab pots in Tillamook Bay anymore unless I can stick around and watch them.

We were out again Wednesday, 9 October. Saw only one fish caught. I caught one seagull. That'll be the next video. Going out again Saturday the 12th.

We went out again today. Light breeze, rising tide, warm sun. Caught nothing. It was a wonderful day.
Inspiring. If you feel inclined to share how to rig your trolling setup, or some tips and tricks id appreciate it. I'm trying to convince the father in law to go salmon fishing again. I'll do all the labor, he just needs to supply the boat lol. 2nd video of yours I've watched, great content.
I plan to get video from better camera angles next time. There are as many ways to rig for salmon as there are fishers for salmon, but I'll try to show you my way. I hope you subscribed and selected All notifications so you won't miss it.

Glad the weather somewhat co-operated. The boat looks great after its rehab. Wonderful that the state provides the floating restroom. And I can’t think of many places better to be “stuck” waiting. Did you ever get salmon dinner?
