I know a guy that worked in a music store. He had a customer that purchased a Les paul "not cheap", he tried to return it and was tured down. He then said hus credit card was stollen. The clerk told police he checked his I.D. and reconizzed him as the man using the credit card.
So I get why the manufacturers would want to do direct sales: $$$. They get to cut out the middle man (you guys) and keep more margins for themselves. But if the retail prices are the same as what every retailer is charging, I don’t get what’s in it for me as a customer to buy from them rather than a retailer like Casino. If I buy from you guys I know there’s a point of contact. I can call or email you directly if there’s an issue or a question. I know you guys have checked over the guitar before sending it out. Maybe even made sure it’s set up nice too. There’s just a whole bunch of those kind of things that make me wonder why anyone would want to order direct.
I dont have a local shop within 2 hours. But I have ordered from sweetwater and zzounds. I wouldn't hesitate to order direct but there are only 2 guitar brands I would buy anyway. Schecter and music man
I bought a Brent Hinds signature V from Sweetwater back in the day. It came without the COA and, when I complained to my Sweetwater guy, he was like, "Yeah, that happens sometimes." I just let the issue slide. I don't remember what this had to do with the conversation or what you said that triggered the thought. Take it easy, guys!
Larry Bird is an icon. Never forget the time Bill Laimbeer dirty fouled him, and when Larry was at the free throw line he threw the ball right at Laimbeer’s face? And then he said “I was just throwing it back to the ref! Laimbeer’s face just got in the way!” What a legend.
I've never been to this place, but one of these days I'm gonna stop in and ask to use the bathroom. Then I'm gonna take a look around and make a big stink about the lack of bass guitars. Remember, I've never been there before, but I guarantee there's like five basses in stock and not ONE of them is a 5-string. After my rant I'll ask the staff where the closest bar is and offer to buy all of them a drink. Then, while the shop is abandoned, my buddy will slip in. He will head to the same bathroom I went to earlier and he'll take a big dump in the tank of the toilet. When the staff returns Baxter will make his way to the bathroom. Upon flushing he will see a brown sea of disappointment fill the bowel, and he will say to himself, "We need to stock some 5-String basses.".
Not sure why it triggered my memory, but you guys remind me of the old Reliable Music store in Charlotte (back in the day). Seems you have the same kind of vibe (well for me as I only had great experiences when I visited).
My friend had the game on early computer, Larry Bird vs Dr J. (84' ish?) C64 I think... The animation was really creative and weirdly realistic for such low resolution stuff. Fun times 🍻
@Casino Guitars Dudes! you guys totally need to have a Movie Night once a month or so AT Casino Guitars! It would be worth the drive over from Fayetteville for sure. Whatcha think?
I think if you're gonna do heavy relic guitars anyway, might as well sell direct because who can tell if they got a guitar that was returned with additional damages? A guitar just gets more relic to it, they probably jack up the price on stuff that comes back with extra scratches
No Jonathan, I tuned out at number 3. Back in the: 80s,the Kings played basketball in KCMO. We went to the games to see the competition. Magic is playing tonight. Bird is coming on Friday. Eventually we cheered for the Kings and then they left town.
Played a lot of One on One for my Apple ][+. It was Larry Bird vs. Dr. J. I loved it when the backboard shattered and an irate guy would come on to the court to sweep it up.
If Birds back held out I think he woulda been the greatest. The man was such a smart player. What he lacked in raw speed, he made up for with constant hustle. He didn’t need to be the fastest because he was so smart. He was three steps ahead of the defense every play. This isn’t just me saying this, it’s also the greatest players of all time saying this. Edit to add: I can’t believe I didn’t bring up the man’s defensive playing. Steals, and rebounds all day. Easily my favorite player of all time, could’ve been the greatest.
While I would probably never order direct, I find it odd how the general sentiment towards sweetwater is so positive compared to manufacturers selling direct. If sweetwater can make online only sales work, and have a happy customer base, then I don't see a reason why companies like Fender or Taylor won't be able to make it work if they are serious about making it the future.
Believe it or not, I'm a Nigeria prince. I want 10 Gibson Murphy lab guitars. Whatever you have hanging around in the store, just don't try to contact me in person. 😂 I prefer to buy at my local guitar store. 👍
The only advice I could give them is to not do it. This will end up in the annals as an historic fail. I hope I’m wrong. But I’m not. Also, Bird v Magic highlights are works of art. 👍🏽😁😉
Hey, tell them not to sell lawyer models anymore, those men are 90, and nobody remember Robbin Trower, yet, we see models coming out for that guy NOW, only 50 years late. Lol, stop doing THAT, milking a vintage mystique that is simply gone now. Modern guitars are so cool, they completely ruin the magic of the older offers. I can't even play a round fingerboard Fender without scoffing anymore, it feels stupid to me, like why did that ever be the idea a crazy gifted engineer had, that we'd chord up the neck forever? Lol, no single line work was appearing then, and Leo had to know those boards suck for that.
I use to watch your videos, to learn what I could, but since you've decided NOT to answer my email about any interest in buying a couple guitars from me......I'll pass!
We as the consumers need to band together and simply agree that we won’t buy direct. If they realize this method doesn’t work, they’ll stop.
That would be true, if they did not offer better prices, or special guitars that shops cant get. If thats the case...
No, I'm still here. Yall should do a hour long podcast where you just talk about random shit. That's the best part of the show!
I’m with you mate, love the random shit myself. Wouldn’t be the same without all the deviations.
Baxter! Going off topic is not a bug it’s a feature.

DAMN you boys can ramble on...😂 and I'm here for ALL of it!!! 😂
Just saw Air yesterday and watched it twice. Great simple movie. A LOT of 80’s references that’ll make you cringe with joy.

Scammers are such pos! Looking forward to jamming w Jon this weekend!
It was One on One: Larry Bird vs Dr J - I spent way to much time on the Commodore 64 playing that. Man I love the 80s

Great info, I always felt better when. I got a call from a shop, Baxter get a nap!
You will want to see Air. It's really good and well made.
Martin best guitars ever made 😊

Fender doesn’t have the final inspection QC to sell direct.

they can ship the guitars in trash bags and by the time it gets to the customer it will have a fresh "relic" job.
@@1-eye-willy that's not a trashbag it's an authentic vintage New Jersey softshell case, Bruce Springsteen signatures come standard with it
Fun fact - Leo Fender's full name was Clarence Leonidas Fender.
No Jonathan, I tuned out at number 3.

Can you elaborate on what you meant by my shopping returns?
Shipping companies should be able to issue fake tracking numbers to give the smokies a day or two to meet the bandits at the delivery location
Or just have them show up to their location in tandem with the delivery service.
Yes, police will give you the time of day for this endeavour...
It’s best to do what you do best. Manufacturers manufacture, retail does sales ect… That’s why I don’t play the piano, because I’m the guitarist.
The original was Larry bird vs magic Johnson, they changed it to Bird vs Jordan. I had the original on my Commodore 64… the 80’s were great

Off the strat, over the Marshall, around the 335….. nothing but net

these guys realize that guitar makers selling direct kinda take them OUTTA THE LOOP! no wonder they're laughing nervously...

You guys should have 500k subs
Do you have a pasiley tele guitar? can you talk about it?
We watched mother. Liked it.
"All you need is love, and a good jump shot"
Either way sounds like price will be effected.
Any big purchase I make, I'm callin and emailing the shop
Casino needs to go into manufacturing.
Short shorts are back fellas
Bird magic and Jordan. The three best players of all time. The last 2 spots can be debated. No one has ever been better than those 3.
I can confirm there is a Jordan Vs Bird one on one.
Male Camel Toe is “Moose Knuckles”
Words of wisdom as always, thanks guys. Also, *definitely* wasn't expecting to hear the words "male cameltoe.". Life is full of surprises.
Great video thanks makes my day 😂😂😂

Larry Bird vs Dr. J back in the 1980's that the great video game back them.
Dr J vs Larry Bird was the other one 👍
I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
Nah they want an online only, then they will suffer the same lost goods protocol all other mail in shops like Sweetwater are going to have to dom

Soylent Green...!
Sorry, we’re headed for Blade Runner, not Star Trek.
I think it more Mad Max then Star Trek 😅
Yeah, unfortunately, we missed Back to the Future.
Oh, and Transformers The Movie.
It's a passing game! Only showboaters shoot the ball. lol
They dont need any more ideas to raise prices.
me is nigerian prince guitar make buy 10000 dollars: hahahahahahaha
Manufactures? 😄
Baxter is slurring. Speech therapy will help. Get help, my friend.
Larry, he's just day drinking. I'd rather he wait 'til after the show but it's not my show.
Are you drunk? I can hardly understand you without CC.

None of what you say is true. I am in my 30s and own Trower records and love my 7.25 radius vintage fenders. No problem doing leads with them…

I haven’t learned anything about guitaring listening to these two….see I’m getting dumber listening to them….. “guitaring” is that a word?
