A part of it reminds me of Shirley Walker's theme for Batman: Mask of The Phantasm. This version of the theme could be what Michael Giacchino is planning on evolving it into as this version of Batman grows (like he did with Spider-Man). If this is the true, this could be in the sequel. Because of his character arc at the end of the first movie, this more hopeful, heroic, and triumphant version would fit well. @@dbreiden83080 as an absolute fan of this movie, having watched it 17 times, i disagree. It has flaws, like any other movie. Projects this big often overlook stuff anyways, so no big deal. It bothers me that batman's cowl was bulletproof but looked like leather, and maybe some writing aspects here and there, but nitpicks like that usually appear after the 5th viewing. It is great, beautiful and brilliant. But perfect is not the right word!
@@mrf.7528 While you're obviously right that the movie has flaws, I think the cowl makes sense. If it was just plain leather it would mold a lot more, but it maintains a consistent shape, and is bulletproof (like you said). He definitely wears something underneath, like maybe a thin sheet of metal with the leather overtop. There are still quite a few holes to this theory, but that's just my headcannon

Michael Giacchino's unreleased theme is invoking those Shirley Walker's feel. That theme is perfect for next movies. Just how he upgraded Spider-Man's theme with more instruments we can hope to see something like this in next part.
If this version was the main theme it probably would’ve honestly. I’m pretty sure the reason it didn’t get shortlisted was because the main theme used (piano version) is the funeral march. Same key, orchestration, rhythm very similar, chords legit everything. Sure there’s been copy cats in the industry (cough cough John Williams) however the Batman theme was the most recognisable and also the most unoriginal in terms of copying. This version on the other hand is exactly what makes Michael Giacchino a legend.

The theme of this piece IS actually in the movie, it plays when Bruce goes in public for the first time and at the end when Batman’s helping people out of the water. It’s just a more subdued, slower version of the theme that leans into emotion than liveliness, but I’d love to hear THIS version in a sequel for sure!

I love the batman soundtrack. Listened to it with my eyes closed before I started a painting... made a painting that sold the very next day. That's how good this soundtrack is.
I remember seeing this in the theater, The music just enveloped me the whole time as I was experiencing this movie, this different take on Batman! And Michael Giacchino, being one of my favorite composers next to John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and especially Danny Elfman, did not disappoint! Probably the best theme and score of Batman since Danny Elfman scored Batman!
Hope this makes it into Part 2. I hope Bruce’s arc in the second movie is understanding how to use the power he has as head of Wayne Enterprises to help the city. This theme would perfectly represent that arc since it’s combining both Bruce and Batman’s theme - the same way Bruce can find a way to balance both of his lives.
I love how the movie harkened back to 1930s era movies with the music and the noir theme with catwomen as the female fatale it made it feel way more batman, when watching those love scenes and very classical style music was playing it was like watching a style of movie that doesnt exist anymore. I hope that continues in the future cause the theme is amazing so batman.
This unreleased theme is on par with TAS Main Theme, which is brooding and heroic at the same time. The sequel where The Batman is more heroic this should be used.
Matt Reeves is the first director who really seems to acknowledge all the other Batman movies! 😄 Every other director tries to ignore any Batman that isn’t theirs.

i dont know what the plan is for this new batman but if bane is brought in this universe, this could be the song that plays when batman recuperates and makes his heroic entrance when faces off against him.
This is cool, but they did the right thing by not putting it in the movie. One of the core traits of Bruce Wayne in this version is the trauma that keeps him stuck in the past, angry and vengeful. The two-note main Batman theme represents this very well. The quieter, more elegant Wayne part of the suite represents the separation between the two sides of the character. The version we hear in this video is incredible, but had no place in that movie. I hope we hear a version of it in the sequels, ‘cause it freakin slaps!

@@dbreiden83080 as an absolute fan of this movie, having watched it 17 times, i disagree. It has flaws, like any other movie. Projects this big often overlook stuff anyways, so no big deal. It bothers me that batman's cowl was bulletproof but looked like leather, and maybe some writing aspects here and there, but nitpicks like that usually appear after the 5th viewing. It is great, beautiful and brilliant. But perfect is not the right word!
@@mrf.7528 While you're obviously right that the movie has flaws, I think the cowl makes sense. If it was just plain leather it would mold a lot more, but it maintains a consistent shape, and is bulletproof (like you said). He definitely wears something underneath, like maybe a thin sheet of metal with the leather overtop. There are still quite a few holes to this theory, but that's just my headcannon

If this version was the main theme it probably would’ve honestly. I’m pretty sure the reason it didn’t get shortlisted was because the main theme used (piano version) is the funeral march. Same key, orchestration, rhythm very similar, chords legit everything. Sure there’s been copy cats in the industry (cough cough John Williams) however the Batman theme was the most recognisable and also the most unoriginal in terms of copying. This version on the other hand is exactly what makes Michael Giacchino a legend.

The theme of this piece IS actually in the movie, it plays when Bruce goes in public for the first time and at the end when Batman’s helping people out of the water. It’s just a more subdued, slower version of the theme that leans into emotion than liveliness, but I’d love to hear THIS version in a sequel for sure!
He said it was an early version of a combination between Bruce and Batman's theme. We know Bruce's theme plays in the movie like you said, but this specific track is different.

Being a professional composer is one of the most impressive jobs out there. They have to hear something that's never been heard before.
I like how it sounds like a heroic version of the theme we've already heard. I could see it being used in Part II.
I've only just realised that the soundtrack to this is very reminiscent to the animated series.
I remember seeing this in the theater, The music just enveloped me the whole time as I was experiencing this movie, this different take on Batman! And Michael Giacchino, being one of my favorite composers next to John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and especially Danny Elfman, did not disappoint! Probably the best theme and score of Batman since Danny Elfman scored Batman!
This version of the song is very grand, it would work for when this version of batman is very developed
Hope this makes it into Part 2. I hope Bruce’s arc in the second movie is understanding how to use the power he has as head of Wayne Enterprises to help the city. This theme would perfectly represent that arc since it’s combining both Bruce and Batman’s theme - the same way Bruce can find a way to balance both of his lives.

The soundtrack of this movie is a big reason why I love this movie so much.
I love how the movie harkened back to 1930s era movies with the music and the noir theme with catwomen as the female fatale it made it feel way more batman, when watching those love scenes and very classical style music was playing it was like watching a style of movie that doesnt exist anymore. I hope that continues in the future cause the theme is amazing so batman.

This is cool, but they did the right thing by not putting it in the movie. One of the core traits of Bruce Wayne in this version is the trauma that keeps him stuck in the past, angry and vengeful. The two-note main Batman theme represents this very well. The quieter, more elegant Wayne part of the suite represents the separation between the two sides of the character. The version we hear in this video is incredible, but had no place in that movie. I hope we hear a version of it in the sequels, ‘cause it freakin slaps!
