I have been considering the purchase of a Grenadier, but because of the distance of the dealer to me (2 hours) and lack of data on reliability and durability, and dealer service experiences, I have decided to wait until the 2025,models come out to see if any changes are made, updates to software implemented, and as customer reviews begin to roll in, determine if any mechanical problems pop up, and if sales sag, with Ineos continuing producing and servicing the vehicle
That's a prudent approach. I jumped on the bandwagon early and am dealing with the benefits and risks of doing so. If I had it to do over again, would I jump in early??? Probably not, but it's been a fun and interesting ride, so I don't really regret the decision. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@adventurerforlife-joel I need the vehicle to be a daily commuter, not a Sunday drive in the country vehicle. I will probably put 30K miles a year or so on it, so reliability and dependability are important factors, as are on-road handling and features dests during my daily commute. I am a bit of an Audiophile, having enjoyed my Lexus Mark Levinson Sound System, and unfortunately the sound system in the Ineos is not on par.
I personally would not consider this vehicle a daily driver. It's not that I'm unhappy with it or think the quality is poor, but Ineos has replaced two leaking seals and another drivetrain part in my first year of ownership. I've cracked two windshields. They have been great about providing warranty support, but the vehicle will certainly have other weaknesses that have not yet been discovered. When I made my decision, I was comparing this against a Jeep and a Land Rover. I believe it's the best of those three from a quality standpoint, but it is expensive and unproven. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@adventurerforlife-joel Thank you for your input and response my my posts. If I was retired, driving less, and they prove dependable into 2025 (now production has been halted due to a a bankruptcy filing by Recaro and therefore, unavailability of the vehicle seats), I would probably purchase one. It is yet to be determined whether Ineos continues manufacturing the vehicle if they do not sell, or the cost of under warranty repairs eats into profits. After all, Ineos obviously does not have a lengthy track record with regard to automotive production, sales, and service, which is cause for some trepidation and concern. The vehicle upon test driving and looking under the vehicle is built over-engineered and mechanically should last, but even a vehicle built to be simpler, less tech dependent in today's world is still heavily dependent on technology and computer chips, just not as many as say a BMW, Mercedes, etc..
I think your dealer was being optimistic about sales. Dealers that have them are loaded with them. They were offering up to a $5k discount. Then, the "pause" in production was announced. The advertised discounts disappeared overnight. Convenient for Ineos to help dealers clear 2024 inventory without discounting. However they aren't selling well, and I question whether they will be around much longer? Before I plunk down $73k+ I want to make sure this division of the company has some longevity.
I just got my Grenadier back from a 5 week repair where they were waiting on parts for the prop shaft couplers. Turns out they found my rear differential seal was leaking too. Definitely common items it seems.
Ouch!!! They allowed me to continue driving mine until the parts came in, so I was only without mine for one day and they gave me a loaner. I was told that my car was the first one at Regal that had the leaking differential seals. It does certainly seem that it's a weak point. I hope the parts they put in are better than the originals, although I'm guessing not at the moment. Thanks for watching.
Just for reference, Europe does have the ADAS systems. It was an EU requirement introduced earlier this year. On the MY23 and MY23.5 it was able to be configured to be off and would stay off but on the MY24 it is configured to be on each time the vehicle is started. Even the European countries not in the EU get it.
Thanks for the information and clarifying. Our governments are sticking their respective noses in where they don't belong. This will be something I for sure verify very clearly on any new vehicle I purchase in the future. I'm unwilling to pay my money for cars with systems that I don't want, mandate or no mandate. They're not going to force me into an EV either. Thanks for watching.
Understood and agreed. I have no intention of overloading mine nor am I recommending that. I was just trying to relay that the Grenadier seems to be strong from a towing standpoint. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@adventurerforlife-joel I'm deciding on just getting a 90's 110 or 90 and swapping g the drive train I think the I rod is awesome but to much useless tech that breaks
I didn't do anything different than I ever do ... at least not intentionally. I believe when I just open the driver's door and enter the vehicle it displays the total mileage on the vehicle and a couple of other things on the left hand side of the screen and nothing else. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

@@adventurerforlife-joel also I’m going to buy a few couplers for spares. They are JL/JT Dana parts.

Over loading the towing capacity is 1. Illegal
2. A lawyers dream when an accident occurs.

You opened the driver door without triggering the infotainment system to turn on. How did you do it?
