    I have been considering the purchase of a Grenadier, but because of the distance of the dealer to me (2 hours) and lack of data on reliability and durability, and dealer service experiences, I have decided to wait until the 2025,models come out to see if any changes are made, updates to software implemented, and as customer reviews begin to roll in, determine if any mechanical problems pop up, and if sales sag, with Ineos continuing producing and servicing the vehicle

  • @dpl2617
    @dpl2617 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I think your dealer was being optimistic about sales. Dealers that have them are loaded with them. They were offering up to a $5k discount. Then, the "pause" in production was announced. The advertised discounts disappeared overnight. Convenient for Ineos to help dealers clear 2024 inventory without discounting. However they aren't selling well, and I question whether they will be around much longer? Before I plunk down $73k+ I want to make sure this division of the company has some longevity.

    I just got my Grenadier back from a 5 week repair where they were waiting on parts for the prop shaft couplers. Turns out they found my rear differential seal was leaking too. Definitely common items it seems.

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ouch!!! They allowed me to continue driving mine until the parts came in, so I was only without mine for one day and they gave me a loaner. I was told that my car was the first one at Regal that had the leaking differential seals. It does certainly seem that it's a weak point. I hope the parts they put in are better than the originals, although I'm guessing not at the moment. Thanks for watching.

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I didn't do anything different than I ever do ... at least not intentionally. I believe when I just open the driver's door and enter the vehicle it displays the total mileage on the vehicle and a couple of other things on the left hand side of the screen and nothing else. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    Just for reference, Europe does have the ADAS systems. It was an EU requirement introduced earlier this year. On the MY23 and MY23.5 it was able to be configured to be off and would stay off but on the MY24 it is configured to be on each time the vehicle is started. Even the European countries not in the EU get it.

      Thanks for the information and clarifying. Our governments are sticking their respective noses in where they don't belong. This will be something I for sure verify very clearly on any new vehicle I purchase in the future. I'm unwilling to pay my money for cars with systems that I don't want, mandate or no mandate. They're not going to force me into an EV either. Thanks for watching.

    When you put the new windshield on, have the EXO Shield put on the new windshield it’s a special layer of a material. It’s put on the outside of the window and it will protect the window from breaking , chips and damages. You can find them on the Internet in your area. It also comes with a tint so you won’t be blinded by the sunlight.

      The Grenadier is running very well. It's rock solid. No vibrations. No wobbles. The mileage is about 14mpg, so poor, but expected. I'm going to do an in-depth review (good and bad) in a few weeks, but it may be a while before it posts. The car is rock solid, but not perfect (as you would guess). Thanks for watching/commenting.

    really appreciate your comprehensive review of your Ineos experience. I'm torn between buying the "safer bet" Land Cruiser 250 or the "much more interesting" Ineos TrialMaster. Interested to hear your take on your choice.

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I may not be a very good source to help you. I was personally not interested in any of the safer bets. I was not far from having an old school Defender resto-modded for me when the Grenadier was announced. I say that because I had already made the decision not to buy a Toyota or Jeep or new Defender or other like vehicle. I wanted the look of the old Defender with stronger off-road capability and quality than a Jeep. That's what I believed the Grenadier was. I still believe that. I was either going to buy the Grenadier, a resto-modded Defender, or nothing. As my videos discuss, the Grenadier is not perfect. I made the right decision for me. I plan on owning it for quite a while (unless there end up being quality issues). The Grenadier was much cheaper than the other option I was looking at, so price wasn't an issue. I couldn't care less what the gas mileage is (except for the range issue). I've discussed other issues in the videos, so I won't repeat them here. My biggest irritating factor is the stupid nanny systems that I mentioned. The question is: How much of that is controlled by Ineos and how much is them submitting to ridiculous governmental rules??? I don't know the answer. BTW, there's still also the open question of how the dealer network supports the vehicle. At this moment, I'm thrilled with Regal Ineos. Hopefully, they'll keep it going. Anyway, thanks for watching and the comment. Good luck on your decision.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. As I've said before, I think Ineos did a great job as a first shot and seem to understand their worldwide market well. They obviously should spend a little more time understanding the US market and try to incorporate our perspectives. Ineos did send me what I thought was a very good questionnaire on the vehicle which I responded to. We'll see what they come back with in future years.

  • @billwaterhouse5894
    @billwaterhouse5894 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thank you, excellent review of your experience so far. I’m not laughing by the way. No remote start, no garage door opener…what car does not have that. Ineos should consider for the US market, understand what we are used to (even the simple things). Cooled seats by chance? I really really like this vehicle, so much so that I was considering selling my beloved Power Wagon (which has the opener, rear view mirror/camera, cooled seats etc.). After coming to my senses census, for a utilitarian vehicle lacking a lot of the creature comforts. I just don’t think it’s worth the 83K of the one that I built. As many of the other greedy manufactures in the US are realizing, people are simply not buying vehicles like they used to. I hope there is a sharp price adjustment which also includes the Grenadier. Now for all you basement dwellers, I don’t give two s*%ts about your thoughts, this it’s just my opinion so f*&$ off.

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Power Wagon is a great truck! I went to a couple of car auctions last year and saw several from the 40's and 50's that I would have loved to have had. The new ones look great also. It seems every vehicle I would even remotely consider driving is very expensive these days. When I put my deposit down in September 2021, Ineos was still talking $55k for the base model. Obviously COVID and reality set in and jacked the prices up dramatically, although not enough for me to back out. I'm planning on owning this for at least 10 years, so I can just amortize the cost over that timeframe. I do wonder how many people are buying the Grenadier as their daily driver. I'm thinking not many, but I've been wrong about lots of things before! Thanks for watching.

    Has a 23.7 gallon fuel tank so that is a 355 mile range. I have been getting 17mpg in mine but I drive 70mph. Nanny systems are on all new cars and start stop has been on all cars since 2018. Unfortunately the Nannie’s are government regulations these days. Europe is worse than the US but those regs are coming.

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for quoting the exact capacity of the fuel tank. I obviously could have looked it up, but haven't needed to know yet. I'm getting ready to head out on a long trip that will probably test the range in a few spots thus the extra fuel tanks on the cargo carrier. I believe I'm only getting 14mpg-15mpg. Again, I haven't tried to do an exact calculation, just in general. I'll probably do a couple of exact calculations on this trip I'm going on and will advise once I know. As you said, the nanny systems are on all vehicles now, but on my GMCs they can be permanently disabled. IMO, that's the way they should be, so that those who want to use them, can, and those who don't, don't have to. Thanks again for commenting.

    • @tpresten
      @tpresten 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I guess you are going by what the vehicle displays as your MPG calculation? On my 2023 GMC Sierra I cannot disable the auto start/stop function and have to hit the button every time I start the vehicle. The lane keep I can disable once and also the speed warning. Keep in mind that in other countries these nags are mandated and Ineos probably does not have the resources to change all of the nags per country so they just leave them all as the default. It's a niche vehicle without the volume of others so it is going to have some "personality" that other big volume manufacturers handle differently. It's an amazing vehicle and I smile every time I drive it. I have had hundreds of vehicles and thus far this is by far my favorite of all time.

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tpresten I've been doing my MPG calculations in my head and rounding to the nearest gallon. On this long drive I'm getting ready to start, I'll actually get the calculator out and do it to the tenth and see what "exactly" it is. I have a 2021 GMC dually that does not have the auto stop/start, but we also have a 2022 GMC Acadia that we have to switch off every time we start. I'm hopeful that we can at least turn off the speed limit and lane departure warnings. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Ok so as an owner I agree completely on the range complaint and hope they listen with the ridiculous nanny hectoring and lack of permanent turnoff. Complaining about the brakes because a 6,000 pound truck on K02s didn’t stop like a Porsche in a decreasing radius wet off ramp in a panic situation seems a little off. Brakes feel great on mine.

There were several factors that caused that one braking experience to be less than spectacular, although there have been a few other times that I had to brake harder than usual and didn't feel like I was getting what I wanted. One of my other vehicles is a 1-ton, dually GMC which weighs about the same as the Grenadier. It does have 6 tires on the ground instead of four, so that would affect the braking, but it is larger and stops better than the Grenadier. Trust me, I want the Grenadier to be the best vehicle on the planet!!!

      @@adventurerforlife-joel No doubt about that, I just haven't experienced it. To be fair I only have about 650 miles on mine so I'll see if I'm missing something. I have noticed that the brakes on the IG require quite a bit of pedal travel in a hard stop situation, but figured that was just the nature of the beast. I was able to get into the anti-lock on dry pavement once in a panic stop, so I feel like the power is there. My other main driver is an F150 and it is definitely boosted more.

      @@MJ-sg8ov There have been a couple of times where I wasn't sure if the Grenadier's antilock braking had kicked in or not. I got a feeling that the vehicle should be stopping more quickly, but sometimes you get that sensation when antilock kicks in??? I'll continue to pay attention to it and see if I can come up with a "conclusive" answer.

    The table shouldn't resonate in the 5 different Grenadiers I have driven over the last year currently in a diesel none of the tables resonate. Just done 3Kin the last one. Oh and the stop/start ADAS drives me MAD.

      Thx for watching and the comment. I'm going to work on the resonance and see what I can do to alleviate it. It's possible that it's not the table at all and maybe something that I have on the rooftop carrier???

    On my very first test drive of the Grenadier, I had the exact same irritation with the wheel. It was the first thing I adjusted when getting in the truck and I commented that something was not right and that I couldn't seem to get the wheel in the proper position. After the drive, I put down my deposit on the vehicle, so I must not have been bothered too bad. You are the first person I've heard comment on this. Thanks for great videos every week. As I wait for my Grenadier, I look forward to these each week. Please don't stop.

      Thanks for watching. I love the vehicle. Like every other car, it's not perfect. They did a great job for their first try. Hopefully they'll continue to improve it.

      I've commented previously that based on the several hundred Grenadiers I've seen, the silver was not a preferred color choice, but it certainly is my favorite also. To me it's a classic color for a classic body design. Thanks for watching.

    I mentioned to you previously about the iKamper mini. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, personally I’m just not a fan of the ARB tents. If you haven’t looked at the iKamper’s you’re doing yourself a disservice. They are the simplest things in the world to deploy and stow. Added plus is the size will fit neatly on your space allocated, no overhang

    • @adventurerforlife-joel
      @adventurerforlife-joel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your recommendation. Due to your prior comment, I looked at them online because having a smaller tent that is easy to deploy would be great. I'd need to see one in person before I'd buy it. I'm going to start a cross country trip within a few weeks and have decided to punt on the RTT for now. That's certainly not what I was originally planning, but after my misstep with the James Baroud, I want to be very sure before I try to buy another. I'm going to try to go to some off-road dealers during my trip and see what "all" of the options are. The ARB Altitude tent that I was wanting apparently is not yet ready for delivery. They have announced it, but don't have their stuff together yet. We'll see how this shakes out. I'm going to take my time and just do the hotel thing for now. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

    I have a James Baroud Evasion with a Rhino Rack platform. Eliminated one of the front to back bars on the Rhino Rack so the JB rails line up to the spacing and used the James Baroud Universal brackets that are like $50 to grab the side to side crossbars. Easy installation, great tent.
