- There have been some wonderful sunny days lately and so sitting outside with some knitting and a cup of tea is such a lovely thing to do. Here I will show you some of the blossoms that are starting to fill the garden with their glorious scent and colour. Welcome to the new people who have found The Last Homely House. What an absolutely gorgeous setting to sit with your tea and your knitting!! I am totally envious as I love all of the beautiful nature and the soft breeze with the birds and bees in the background. I live in Kansas in the USA and we get lots of strong winds and hot temperatures so it is nothing like where you are. I too have the people experiencing warfare in mind as I watch this very calming loving video. Where I am at the moment we are experiencing thunderstorms. It was very easy to empathise with those experiencing warfare as the approaching thunderstorm sounded and felt like the Sounds of artillery. Still as I lay in my bed watching this video and reading the comments I can't help but feel very very grateful for the feelings of safety nd calm I am currently experiencing. ❤

Another peaceful moment with Kate. I always love these spontaneous bouqets. When I still had my five acres and grew a lot of herbs I loved putting cuttings of my herbs and some weeds in a jar and the fragrance was wonderful.
After putting my husband to bed a walk round your garden is just what I need lovely.

Your garden is so idyllic. I love it. Grandchildren are so precious aren't they? Your talk of you and Agnes making fairy gardens brought back a precious memory of my now sixteen year old grandson back when he was eight. He was over my place playing with the granddaughter of our neighbour. She was all excited because Anton had just made her a fairy garden. He used old horseshoes that were lying around (no we don't have horses. I live in the city of Brisbane. Not allowed to have horses in your back yard here). He gathered rocks, plants etc. and made such a nice job of it. The little girl then brought over some small dolls and started playing in the fairy garden. That is when Anton made his exit and started playing with his bulldozer! He's such a sweet boy, well, young man now. I'm glad you brought back that memory. Oh, and I love the mitred memory blanket. Pity my knitting isn't up to scratch. Crochet is more my thing. Thanks for this lovely video.

Good Monday morning from down under, your hawthorne flowers took me back to my childhood, I grew up in a little area, not even a village but it was called Hawthorndene where the local creek was boarded with hawthorne trees and we had a very pretty one in our back yard, I think it was planted in such a way to shield our out house that was at the bottom of our garden, it had a very preety double pink and white flowers. Blessings to all on the LGS help yourselves to the scons with blackberry jam and clotted cream.

What fun it is to see you cutting flowers for your home Kate. My dad loved his garden and he was furious when my mom cuts flowers for the house. As kids we could smell and not touch. I seldom put flowers in my house. Flowers do get put into a small vase when my girls come home for a holiday. We also have a metal bath. Love the chair idea.
