- Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 8 --- OMG!!! Now this is what I call a seriously high voltage whisky! Cask strength at 61%, matured in PX & Oloroso sherry casks. And, DAMN, what a delivery.
Noticed the bottle was half empty... how long has it been opened? Curious how long it has had to oxidize in the bottle. Great review!
Hey ! Brand new bottle which I shared with my dram club. So when I did the review it was actually not more than a couple of days open. I'll probably go back to it in a month or so to see if it's changed at all. Thank you for stopping by! Really appreciate your comment.
Dude, I think you like this stuff. Go and buy the Whisky Barrel Bunnahabhain 10. It's really a good one and flying well, under the radar. WT
I did a review of their Edradour 10 which was a wonderful dram. They almost doubled the price of it when they saw it flying off the shelves.
WT, Wondering how it compares to www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/bunnahabhain/bunnahabhain-11-year-old-2009-cask-900077-cask-strength-collection-signatory-whisky/?srh=1 ? Don’t want to buy a 10 year old for 100 Pounds and encourage this kinda price gouging
@@krishnar3493 Right? I agree with you. I bought a couple of Edradours for £70 (10yr old single cask) and when I went back it had been hiked up to £110. I'm intrigued about this Signatory you've linked to. Let me figure out how I can get my hands on it.
MA, The lady/man in the sales department probably checked your video :) This is the problem, you onliners try to educate us viewers with your experiences. You say great and the next thing we know is.. its either sold out or price is gone up. Hard to digest the latter. This is been discussed a lot of late. Sorry for the rant :( Enjoy watching your videos and enthusiasm
@@krishnar3493 I wish there was a way I could keep it hidden from retailers!
Bought it
oh wow! Lemme know what you think
"They strangle you with their awesomeness!".
Are you married by any chance?
Seriously, your tasting notes description of a combination of Red and dark fruits with heavy caramel sounds to me like they have used Sherry seasoned American Oak QA casks. All these Scotch sherry bombs are off limits to me due to religious restrictions on non-kosher wine but thank G-d, there are more and more Israeli single malts out now which have been matured in Port and wine casks. So, I see why you enjoy them so much.
hmmmm sherry seasoned QA casks, huh? Let me find out.
@@MaltActivist Don't be fooled when they say "Spanish Oak". The term means nothing. They also grow American White Oak in Spain !!!
The fact is that the vast majority of Spanish Sherry casks are made from American White Oak. (QA)
@@RebMordechaiReviews Definitely not gonna get fooled now. Thanks for that little nugget. Will look it up now.
i was waiting for you to add water to it so that it could open up. what a waste of time.
I'm really sorry about that. But I normally prefer my whiskies without water, generally. The problem is the exact measurement of the water. I may put more and drown it out, put less and not see a difference. Since there's so much guesswork involved I leave it out. I'm happy to try it with some water and report back right here in the comments. If you're cool with that.
@@MaltActivist Perhaps this formula and an example will help. It shows how many ml of water must be added to a dram of 20 ml with 58% in order to get to 45%:
M1*K1 + M2*K2 = M3*K3
20ml x 58% + N x 0 = (20ml + N) x 45%
1160 + 0 = (20ml + N) x 45%
1160 / 45% = 20ml + N
25,778 ml = 20ml + N
N = 5,778 ml

OMG lock your focus it's giving me a headache
Sorry! Lens decided to keep focusing on the light at the back for some reason. Issue resolved. Lens calibrated and light removed. No more focus movements.
