Luckily i got into whisky once the NAS started. So I don’t have any attachments to age statement bottles. In my early 20’s we used to spend a lot of time and money at a neighborhood pub called the Emerald Isle. You just reminded me of the good old days. I’ll have to look for this now. Cheers 🥃
Sounds like a very nice pour.... right in my wheelhouse. And you are correct, while age statements are nice, they are not the most important thing. There are fantastic pours, and dogs in any age range. Keep it up.... Cheers!

The etching on the glass is the classic Mark Twain quote: " “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough." Dammit, he was right!

Buying my first bottle for over $100 at the LCBO , I am stuck between this and Aberlour a'bunadh. I have read that while Aberlour a'bunadh is undoubtedly a very good dram, but it has more burn then the Glendronach less of a pleasant mouthfeel and but it is richer and more sherry forward. The glendronach is $20 more so they are similar in price opinions?
Unfortunately, I haven't had the Aberlour yet so I can't say in comparison with this. However, I can advise that the GlenDronach is a fantastic whisky.

Glendronach produce beautiful drams. Even the 8 yr the “ heilan”.. is a class whisky. If you haven’t already reviewed it, it’s worth doing.
They sure do and I'm a big fan. I haven't had that one, though I few reviews ago I did the Batch 8 Cask. Cheers.

This is always one to watch out for. Some are better than others, but they are always damn good. They will always rock your boat!

Aberlour A'bunadh is my favorite right now. Absolutely delicious! You really need to get both!
