Seungmin is the most fluent in English after Chan & Felix like his accent is impeccable and you can tell he studies it down to the grammar and technicality, so I feel so much pride every time I see him speak English in interviews and just in general because he's worked so hard on it. How far his English has come since debut is amazing like to the point where he just opts to use English when he's talking with only Chan and/or Felix.
Hello! I don't want to be rude and all but I just wanted to say that, Seungmin studied in LA for quite a while as Hyunjin as well did on Canada or California. You can correct me if I'm wrong. 🐶🥟
@@roxannemico5795 seungmin only went to la for a couple months in 4th grade… i’m pretty sure hyunjin went to america too but only for a little while when he was young
What Seungmin said is the official reasoning to the fandom name being stay. The R in stray kids is the reason they are there so stay are the reason for stray kids being there. Also hyunjn’s most hated food is egg plant and he also hates raw onion but likes fried onion that’s why they’d had an eggplant and hyunjin said it’s not yummy. Edit: he also hates mushrooms
The sound that I.N made at around 15 minutes is a sound that Korean people make when they want to express "wow" or "that's so awesome" when they like something. They use it a lot when someone starts singing nicely or when they drink a glass of alcohol to say they like it and many more. So I.N was just expressing "the writing looks great. I did a good job."
Yeah I think chicken burgers are like really big here in Australia and I’m not sure if ur Aussie or not but I’m not surprised that is not as well known in america
@@himikopilled a burger but its made out of chicken instead of beef, pretty self-explanatory haha. i think the u.s is the only place that gives it a different name but i could be wrong on that
Hyunjin is actually studying English for his degree. SKZ impress me so much with languages, all of them speak Korean, English, and Japanese to a level where they can hold interviews in each language now. Chan even speaks Japanese in dialect because he learnt from Japanese friends. Lee Know has always been one of the best at Japanese but he started really concentrating on English last year and he's come on so much. Sometimes I use SKZ as my study inspo 😅
22:58 seungmin is pretty fluent in english just like han, probably even a bit more than han! also idk if you've heard a lot of han speaking in english but he tends to have a british accent which is very funny
IKKk yes I said that too all my friends who didn’t even know stray kids and told them to at least listen to ONE song from them and tell me if they like or not and the day after they wouldn’t stop talking about how they were laughing so hard that their stomach was hurting and they were crying. I love skz and I always will and they also make me laugh a lot
Obviously Chan and Felix has the best English they are fluent. I believe Seungmin lived in the states for a bit as a kid which is why he has the most American sounding English, Han did online schooling when he lived in Malaysia so he has almost a British accent while speaking English. Changbin and Hyunjin have both been working very hard to learn English and have improved a lot. Some of these clips are very old. Leeknow understands English when it's spoken slowly enough for him to follow but I think he is still very insecure about his speaking abilities Same for IN. I saw straykids day 1 in Atlanta last month and all the members used English to speak to stays and they definitely have improved a lot. Leeknow is very quite when he speaks English I think it's super cute although I'm sure it's because he doesn't want to say the wrong word's. He mostly stays quite and listens during English interviews but he chimes in sometimes. During an interview in 2022 They were asked to pick which member they would want to be styled after. Leeknow picked Bang Chan and Chan laughed and said "Oh you want to wear all black?" Leeknow responded quietly in English "Very simple" it was very cute. What Seungmin sayed about their Fandom name is correct the reason for straykids is stay "we make straykids stay". You should watch some more recent interviews like 2022 during their Maniac tour in the US to get a better idea of their English skills now. Friendship test or the puppy interview.
I love how Nigel awarded Seungmin at the very beginning when Seungmo said " I am STAY " as this was his first time hearing a normal answer fr9m Seungmin🤣🤣 Me too Nigel, me too💀💀
About the "How are you? I'm fine, thank you. And you?" you'll see that come up more and more if you watch a lot of idol content I think. I guess that's like how the phrases are taught for ESL in Korea. Like there's a video where Felix or Chan answers with just "I'm fine, thanks!" and idols from another group are confused that he only said half the phrase lol. And it's maybe at their Kingdom performance where Felix starts them off with "I'm fine, thank you. And you?", and it seems like it's a bit of a joke among the ones who do know English already. I feel like among the kids, Han and Changbin will often pull out a few words in a row that are spoken in a different cadence or accent because they learned them as a phrase instead of just the individual words put together like the rest of their sentence.
1. yes, chicken burger is a thing - pretty much just means chicken sandwich in US terms, also, I NEED an entire compilation of you and Siri interacting lol - I always crack up Edit* Would love if you reacted to "Hyunjin can't Vlive in peace" by skzjuju. It's just so fun and chaotic and pure SKZ!
Hyungin finds learning english difficult because one word can have different meanings, and with english being my second language I understand. Meanwhile I find learning Korean difficult because there are different words for one meaning :/
Oh no.... I just started learning Korean and didn't know this - so good to know! I'm really hoping I won't give up on this language because I really do want to learn it and understand SKZ songs better and their content... Good luck to you on your journey with Korean! :)
hang on I.N. with the English "what in the Febreze!?" that killed me XD- thats a noise like a laugh, its a Korean thing i swear hes not a spray bottle. XD!!!!
I actually just saw them perform at their first US stadium show in LA last week and it was epic. While I personally don’t think the non-fluent members need to speak English at US concerts and interviews if they’re not comfortable and should be able to speak Korean and have a translator, they all tried and did really well. You can tell they’ve all practiced and improved both in general pronunciation and just general comfort with the language. Seungmin’s English is really good and his more American accent always catches me off guard (probably because I’m used to Felix and Chan’s Aussie accents in most of their English content). It’s also hilarious seeing clips of them obviously picking up Aussie accents on certain words. Also, how did you not know that chicken burgers are a thing? 😂 Must be one of those things where different parts of the country call them different things. Really enjoying your reactions! Glad to see you having fun getting to know these guys!
