Haha! It's a common misconception... The appropriate amount of tension needed is determined by the diameter of Safe-T-Cable being used. This is labeled nicely on the torque verification equipment that can be found here. dmctools.com/products/safe-t-cable/testing-equipment
You need different tools for each gauge of Safe-T-Cable. You can put different length noses on the same tool, but they all must be the same gauge of Safe-T-Cable as the tool. www.dmctools.com/products/safe-t-cable/
We use video this for collins aerospace
We're happy this is still a valuable resource for your team!
Thanks for this "magic" tool, I tried for the first time yesterday and it's a must have for poor access areas on aircraft engines :-)
The most great video I have seen today thank you.
Every time I forget how the wheel captures the wire in these specific cable guns I find myself back at this video lol #chairforce
Good news! We recently released an updated Safe-T-Cable tutorial, you should check it out th-cam.com/video/k0XePoiwhJQ/w-d-xo.html
im looking to use lockwire on mining sites...should be good
Yeah some of the guys I work with think we are tuning guitars in banjos with our safety cable it's so tight barely pull on it it'll break

Can the safety cable be used on rotating parts?
Yes, depending on the application. Feel free to contact our engineers to discuss your specific needs.
Can buy one tool and just switch the noses gor different diameter cables? I want one tool for .032 and .022.
