MenStyleFashion Sadly being truly moral, the everyday moral appose to a celebrity getting photographed twice a year feeding starving kids for publicity, doesn't count for anything in our society.

I got to see Hardware on the big screen when it initially came out. Hated Moreau, but it wasn't Richard Stanley's fault. If you haven't seen the documentary on that film: Lost Soul, you have to see it. Be sure to watch the Stanley Outakes in the Extras. His grasp of the material, and his ideas could have made a wonderful film.

I think Stanley went in with the idea that the film would cost $8million but when you add brando and kilmer the budget went into the stratosphere and he could not control it.

Lost Soul is a fantastic documentary. Definitely a deep insight into the Beast System that runs Hollyweird. A comment on his comments on loyalty. Fairuza Balk left the film after Stanley was fired. She has to be threatened with a lawsuit if she didn’t return to the set. You can’t buy that kind loyalty. He should have given her props !!

Really? Stanley was fired for being late to the deadline.. The new director was an a hole to val and Marlon Brando! He treated David ( Douglas in the movie) like s*hit.. He didn't take into consideration that Brando had a daughter who committed suicide and had memory issues.. Val was getting divorced.. And all that director cared about was to make the movie on time for the deadline.. Didn't even care for the quality.. Watch the documentary val for more insight and his book I'm your huckleberry

@@shaunsmith3757 I've seen that documentary and it only proved my point even more.. Val is innocent from these ridiculous claims.. All the mistake he made was agreeing to make that movie and not suing their asses for these false accusations .. Non of these claims are proved by anything but rumors and statements from people who hate him.. Or at least didn't take their time to know him.. All of his costars including David thewlis said val was fine and most of them praised his professionalism and dedication.. Val had his proofs on vid tape. U can't beat that.

Stanley was a fired for failing to meet the deadline and for having creative differences with the rest of the team.. The new director was an a hole to him and Marlon Brando! He treated David ( Douglas in the movie) like s*hit.. He didn't take into consideration that Brando had a daughter who committed suicide and had memory issues.. Val was getting divorced.. And all that director cared about was to make the movie on time for the deadline.. Didn't even care for the quality.. There wasn't enough space on set for two egos the size of Texas in Brando and Kilmer, and the newbie director. They had to get someone who would bring them into line - not someone turning 30 on his 3rd film, but born in 1930 and on his 30th.

Val would never sleep with a woman without her consent regarding of the director who's making a decision for her and if val wanted to sleep with someone he'd ask them.. He's a big person on women's rights and sensitive person that's why even his exes still love him.. don't believe Whatever was said on val on the set of the island of dr moreau.. Please go watch the documentary "Val" to see his point of view and know he was deemed difficult because he was determined to make the movie work.. He and Marlon Brando bonded and tried to save the movie but sh!thead director John frankenheimer wasn't interested in their genius ideas.. Also val was having a messy divorce and his kids taken away from him on set so that should make anyone moody.. I believe val was innocent and it was a cheap trick to pin the failure of the movie on him and a pathetic way of the director to go back in the game.. All the other directors that worked with him said he was nothing but professional and dedicated.. Frankenheimer and batman and Robin Schumacher are not exactly the best to judge.

I like the guy, but he is not a film maker. He clumsily got into the industry. He admits to it. Now, did Val fuck him? Yes, that guy had an ego and his paying for it now.
At any capacity, Stanley should have been able to get a film done. I've seen plenty of hacks truck through. Russell Mulcahy has been getting work.
He needs to get his union card by directing TV. He would fit perfectly in a Netflix show like Dark Mirror. From there, aim up to a low budget film.
I think he has a brand that could work.
