Its started to sound robotic(I still haven't took a deep dive into fixing it since I don't use the headphone monitor output from the interface since I can't fully turn off the voice monitoring). Hey Dave! I was wondering if you'd recommend using this setup (Teyun Q-12 and Fifine's k688) with a virtual cable software such as voicemeeter, and wondering if you'll do a video about it?
I just posted a video review of the Q16 (see my YT channel). I had similar issues with static and noise, until I tried a different mic cable. The front panel mic connectors are a little fussy with some cables. I think the Q16 is great value for PC-based karaoke, but not a good choice for music production or critical listening.
Hi Dave! I have the same exact interface, and I faced the issues with the noise during monitoring. Apparently, what solved it was to use a 3.5mm Ground Loop Isolator on the headphone jack on the front. It is inexcusable that it took such a device to make the interface useable, but it is what got it to work fine. I chose this over the Q-12 because of the aesthetics, but failed on its primary function sadly.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Genome! Did the ground loop isolator fix just monitoring, or the actual recording? Because all of the audio itself was busted in my experience!
@@DaveSoltura I had no issues with the recording itself, although that might probably because I use an external mic preamp with my dynamic microphone (Klark Teknik CM-1) which requires me to only set the gain at 25% with the 48V phantom power enabled. I think the noise you experience at close to maximum gain is caused by the noisy preamp the audio interface comes with.
@@SabbirAhmedSaby1.0 unfortunately there is no fix. I have let go of this interface and passed it on as a bad purchase. I got an arturia minifuse 2 to replace it now
I have a Q16 and FLEXASIO can see it. I have no issues with latency when using real time VSTS like Waves Harmony and other kinds of Real Time Vst when using FlexASIO.
Hi I have a problem Brand New Q16, when i plug the headphone i hear loud white noise, its very loud even when the volume knob all way down the noise is still noticeable.
I have the k688 and condenser microphone both on a xlr set up that I use for voice acting and I actually prefer the k688, only thing is if I'm doing a scene were I'm yelling or loud the mic tends to clip more than a normal mic would. Still love it tho!
after usb port got busted on my scarlett gen 3 i ordered mine thinking ooh q-16 thats gotta be even better than q-12 i mean its like +4 right :') hissing and pops n cracks every few seconds like its clipping even with the gain set real low, also when hooked up to cubase i could not get the inputs to record seperately, just got a 'mono' stereo feed with both inputs coming through on left and right equally, ordered an evo 4 now , lil more pricey but couldnt afford to replace the focusrite
@DaveSoltura what about the filing ampligame sc3? It's more than double the price of the q12 but significantly less than the scarlet. Do you think it'll be worth the upgrade to the ampligame sc3?
@DaveSoltura Great! If you can, could you compare it with the q12 using the K688? I bought that exact setup after watching your video 😅 and I've been looking to upgrade the q12 for a while, but I don't know if the fifine sc3 would be worth it or not audio quality wise
Привет. Когда я подключаю гитару , у меня идут два сигнала, один дисторшен из эмулятора (guitar rig), другой чистый из самой звуковой карты. Как убрать чистый сигнал?😢
I ordered fifine k688 but I'm planning to use it via USB since I'm on budget. I have no problem buying teyun q12, but on fifine k688 is a cheap interface better than USB ?
I initially came up with the Teyun Q12 video because I thought the K688 usb mode was broken, when it turns out it was the cable’s fault. You’ll be fine with just USB + a proper cable. In fact, the preamps may even be better than the Teyun. But the Teyun provides the flexibility of having 2 inputs if you’ll ever need it.
Actually I'm finding an audio interface for my singing recording, because without audio interface, my record is a little bit delayed to music beat, so Q12 or Q16 can improve this problem?
what do you think is better the fifine k688 or Maono Pd100 im looking for a buget microphone for voice acting also a interface to go with it. i think the Maono is pretty cool plus it comes with and xlr cable awesome.
I'm biased for how the K688 sounds... but in my country it costs twice as much as the Maono PD100. If budget is a concern, the PD100 will be more than enough, if you add the Teyun Q12, as well. If budget is not a concern, I'm a fan of the K688. :)
What did you think of the Teyun Q16?😁
Is this device good for recording guitar ?
