Unfortunately there are some people who still don't understand the meaning of BE album and I'm not talking about that man (I don't know his name) saying that BTS music is the same, maybe he never listened to BTS in the first place, but I'm talking about some "ARMYs" saying that they are disappointed about this album, of course everyone has his own opinion/taste, you can't like every single song of them since they did so many genres, BUT BE is an exception they didn't make it to break records or to fit the trends, but to comfort people, sharing with them what they were feeling this past year. It's such a personal album for them.
hmm idk it sounded pretty trendy to me, which is not a bad thing but its not everyones taste. musically speaking i think its defiantely following the trendy sounds currently (please dont get triggered just my opinion :'D)

BE for me was different from their previous albums I didn't liked it as much as the previous albums maybe because it's just not my kind of style but the boys worked very hard while making it so I really appreciate their hardwork and I'm looking forward to more amazing music from the boys
BE is a testament of how BTS has has grown musically. Being an artist is about growth. When BE came out it reflected the mood of the pandemic, just a chill vibe. It made them standout from other kpop acts/boybands cos unlike we were used to seeing them dancing and all that. It's nice to see another side of them. That's GROWTH, the unpredictability of it all.
What's wrong with people is, they are so used to BTS doing the EXPECTED THINGS but with this album, they just CANNOT appreciate because they just want VISUALS, EFFECTS, PROPS and everything their eyes wanted to see. Sorry, bts ain't here for that. They know what they're doing.
If Anyone says that BTS sounds the same every comeback, it just proves the fact that they never actually listened to their music discography before. BTS is the only group who sounds different and tries different type of music in every comeback. The "review" of needledrop guy is always negative when it comes to bts bcz I feel he has a biased music genre that he personally loves and other than that particular genre, he dislikes the others. And bts fan base is huge and there are a huge amount of fans who wants and needs validation from such "reviewer" and that guy knows about it. So he says things like that so that those fans keep coming back to him and watch his "review". Nowadays every youtuber out there acts like they know everything. I don't even click on such videos anymore.
you literally can't predict anything about their music, because they always have something new, refreshing, something never heard before. I love their comebacks bc I never know how it's going to be. They continue to grow and surprise me every single time even after 5 years stanning them
BE is the album released in the middle pandemic and the title song is literally A COMFORT SONG FOR ARMY. Those who just casual listeners would ofc find it boring, they expect BTS to release songs that blowing up in beat (trends for this generation). That's why whenever critics says its not good or boring (musically) it never impact because those who follow BTS knows the album match with pandemic season. It's simple and comforting especially for ARMY only.
I think the fact about Bts is that they 'tell a story'. In that view, you need to know their previous works. Some experts even said that Bts album is just like series of book you really like, where Harry Potter 5th book sales higher than their 4th book because fans loved the series and you cannot judge the 5th book without knowing the 1st-4th books. So.... I will not 'believe' reviewer of Bts album unless they are fans. But then again, Army won't really put those reviews seriously because what to do withBts album is to listen it by heart.
BE album is relatively more chill vibe and gloomy since it’s produced out of pandemic and sudden change of unexpected obstacles. It’s not flashy but an album for consolation and encouragement. It’s a big change from MOTS7. I appreciate BTS putting out quality music and not following any trend but stay true to their hearts. BE is a subtle gem with a lot of depth in lyrics and musical arrangements. It takes time to savor the details.
blue side is one of my favorites from j-hopes mixtape and i always dreamed abt a longer version, im so happy he released it!
btw jino they released a individual interviews of the members on BANGTANTV channel on youtube. the members interviewed each other and they talked about how they work on songs, their future projects, etc... it’s really interesting. i know you’re “not an army” but if you ever want to check out their thoughts and aspirations for future projects. you probably can’t react to it live since it would get copyrighted :/

I agree that atleast theneedledrop gives honest opinion. I feel like until the love yourself era he used to do more research on the lyrics and individual songs but now after not liking Mots:7 has thrown then into his generic pop category. It's unfortunate because I think that bts is bridging the gap in pop music and making a standard where songs can be both trendy and tasteful.

I personally feel that musically, BE album is not everyone's taste. But that doesn't mean that the album is not great. I'm gonna be honest, I personally didn't like the album that much. It's actually my least favourite album from bts. But it's my personal taste in music. It doesn't mean that the songs were not good or they were boring. It's just that the songs in this album are not something that I personally like to listen to. When Taylor swift came back with Evermore, many people said it was boring or lackluster. But people who know enough about music or listen to everything, they know that the songs were good. Its just that sometimes artists make music that is so good but it's just not everyone's taste. BE is a great album but it just isn't something that everyone loves to listen to. I actually appreciate the boys hard work and I love the fact that they don't stick to one type of music just bcz it gets them a billion views. They are breaking the stereotypes that the media has made about boybands in general.
i agree with you on that one, BE isnt one of my favorite albums but i know for a fact that it isn't a bad album or "boring". this album is supposed to be a comforting and healing album for us during times of a global pandemic and they delivered exactly that, comforting and cozy vibes! however i don't like that guy's reviews bc he's very biased and sometimes it feels like he just gives a quick listen and calls it "Trash".

Fantano saying D2 was overproduced, lifeless and worst of all plastic made me stop watching his videos. Calling yoongi’s work plastic offends me to the point I can’t even explain my anger with proper words lol. It’s clear he doesn’t even bother to try understanding bts, I wish he could just stop reviewing their songs.

I think not every song needs to have choreo tbh. They've been singing and dancing all their lives so I think it's good to just see them just sit and sing too. I don't have a problem with ppl saying the album is boring tbh bc ppl have different taste in music. Ppl said the new album of TS is good but I find it boring bc I don't like that kind of music. It's just normal like not every person on earth can like the same color.

That guy said "It's the same sounds they've been doing up until now." ....bruh.....I can think of soooooo many songs that aren't pop from BTS. Smh I respect that he doesn't like the album but saying that just shows that he hasn't listened to enough BTS songs.
But I don't get why that's even a bad thing. Why would that be a complaint? Many artists stick to one genre and that's not an issue. Bts is definitely not one of them but suppose they found a sound that they were comfortable with and wanted to work with it more, what's the issue??

theneedledrop's really not into understanding BTS. he pretends he does, that's the vibe i get since his review of LY Tear back in 2018, but he's dismissive of plenty of things and that's the most irritating thing about him putting his opinion on BTS out there because many people follow what he says. i myself used to follow because he'd like an album/artist i love therefore his opinions must've been ones i could follow along, listen to his best rated albums, get nice recommendations.
he does like quite a few pop albums, i've seen a good amount, so i don't think his problem is with pop music, neither k-pop as far as i've seen. but here's the thing, he praised some kpop acts based on artists they were involved with. Loona with Grimes, ITZY with SOPHIE. what's funnier about his biased way is that he praised ITZY's Wannabe /thinking/ SOPHIE produced it, when she worked on another song for the girls. so he's really just biased towards his favorite artists and loud ass experimental sounds. it's his thing and i get it, but he can't pretend he understands BTS.
(also that wasn't a shade towards Loona and ITZY cuz i love their music but i can see he was biased)

I seriously doubt fantano is listening to the albums front to back and he's definitely NOT looking at lyrics and translations. He hasn't had anything remotely nice or informative to say about BTS except for maybe Tear and I can't even remember what he said back then and I'm too lazy to check.

For Anthony Fantano review , I agreed with what he said. This album was not impressive and it was rather boring to me. Not one song on the album stood out . BE is my least favorite album from bts.
