I'm from Trinidad . This is such an emotional song. Makes me feel as if i am an Australian also.
I am American, and I found this very moving
I am an Austrian, warm greetings from the other side of the World! Love this song!
What a wonderful song and country!
Such a great song... Should be our national anthem....
It is in the ❤️s & souls of us all ... Even all my friends worldwide I am #trueblueozi & I'm going to change history
im from the uk absolutely love this so moving, Dobe Newton co wrote this with Bruce Woodley from the seekers first album i ever bought was the seekers Judith had the most amazing voice so sad when she passed RIP
I remember the first time I heard this great song, when the "Seekers" sang it in concert, so many years ago.
CHILLS AND TEARS for me !
It makes me wish I was an Australian every time I hear it.....
@@tex148th Thank You.We Australians are truly blessed in so many ways.❤️🙏💕
Very, very moving performance. It brought tears to my eyes, and I'm American.
I have lived here for 20 years and called this wonderful place home, but hearing this song is the first time I felt like I was an Australian.
From all the lands on earth we come I am you are we are Australian 😊

I'm Canadian, but this song hits me in the feels and brings a tear to my eye. Such a lovely song that represents Australia, this song should be the Anthem of Australia. ❤
Yep, I think Australians myself included became less patriotic for this great land, we need to become more patriotic no shame in showing your pride for your country... I was born a raised here, my mum both my parents grand parents etc, my family have been here for a good few generations...
@@21_f_aus Australia is an awesome country. :)
I am from the United States and I love this song. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I miss old folk music. That music is one of last music that comes from the heart. Most music today have lost that.
Very touching song. First heard it on TH-cam months ago from the Voice Australia.
You may not know that the founders of the Bushwackers came from a little known group called the Ramblers of whom I miss each and every one of them 4 men and my mother sadly missed by all who knew them. Two of the men became founding members of The Bushwackers and went on to form an enduring group that stands today with traditional music and verse that brings tears to my eyes every time
Fantastic song, I love how this song includes every regardless on who you are and where you come from. I am, you are , we are Australian.
The ballard as sung here does *not* include all Australians. The original's first verse is ommitted. That verse is:-
I came from the dream-time
From the dusty red-soil plains
I am the ancient heart
The keeper of the flame
I stood upon the rocky shores
I watched the tall ships come
For forty thousand years I've been
The first Australian.
As a very proud Scot, this should be the Australian National Anthem,
Best thing ever when they sang it in parliament when same sex marriage bill passed.
@@williamgraham1845 As a very proud Aussie I fully agree.😍
Great song - should be your anthem
Amazing song!!! lots of love from SCOTLAND 🏴 🤝🇦🇺❤️

@@JoyMobile-en2mrWhat do you think mate, stop stirring shit, you obviously didn't listen to the lyrics
@@dianamathias6815 I am always proud to be an Australian.
@@JoyMobile-en2mr Of course they are they are our brothers and sisters whether they like it or not 🤣❤️❤️❤️
If a song shows a deep link to your country, it is this one. Very moving and impressive - wonderful collaboration! Always keep in mind where you come from and that it was a joined effort to be where you are!
Awesome song ... brings home memories of my family downunder ... from your brother in the UK
Absolutely beautiful 🙂🥰😁🎸🎤🙏
Very proud supporter , love to see😁👀👀👀🎤🎸🙏 The Bushwackers 🙏🎤🎸
What a song …beautifully sang
The Aussie girl singing in indigenous language was a lovely feature of this version....beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
She’s an aboriginal girl
@BerylDee She is still an Aussie girl..trouble maker...ask her if she is Australian.

BRILLIANT
First gen Aussie and proud🇦🇺🏴
6th + 2 gen of my own🇦🇺🏴
My family came to Australia in the early days and this song resonates beautifully.
OH YES....This is Earthy...AUSTRALIAN EARTH. This is alongside the Seekers version.
We love to see this as the Australian Anthem..... it says everything without Division.
You,Sir’s, are the definition of what it is to be an Australian. Thank you for what should be our national anthem.
This could absolutely be Australia's national anthem. But I'm sure alot of people will be just fine with it being the the unofficial anthem. Very few songs reach such an accolade.
cette merveilleuse chanson créée par des Australiens et chantée pour des populations de toutes les couleurs de peau et de croyances devrait être l'hymne international de la paix dans le monde...
The old and young...those who came and lit the flame and those that will carry the torch as time passes ❤ well done 👏
Wow that girls voice is amzing. Reminds me of Judith Durham. Great performance.
;love the bushwackers
This is not the text they song on the voice...but i love it...
❤🤠🥲🤠🥰💓👍💥🔥😍🚜🤗🤩👍👍👍👍👍👍SUPER SONGS
😢❤
Hiya. Am I mistaken? Did they leave out the 1st verse?
I think so!! :(
Yes, good verse too.
I assume it was sung in a native language at the 3:00 mark.
What happened to the first verse
2:57
❤
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Who are the young artists? They all have an amazing voice. Do they have any of their own songs
GREAT SONG THATS TRUE 🇦🇺
Can you say that again please I didn't understand what you meant.
100%dinkydi Aussie 👍🇦🇺
This song busts me
Fuck me, this got me patriotic as fuck
I love this song. In what language does the girl sing at the end of the song? Does anyone know her name?
Kyla-Belle, and she is singing in Gamilaraay / Kamilaroi 🙂
Many thanks for your information @@Sean-Richards
Whose the first girl that sang , she has a wonderful tone,
Beautiful , I love this country Australia as one, so ALBO piss off
Without the Bruce Woodley and Dobe Newton - "I Am Australian" first verse, this ballad is not complete nor representative of *all* Australians. The first verse is:-
I came from the dream-time
From the dusty red-soil plains
I am the ancient heart
The keeper of the flame
I stood upon the rocky shores
I watched the tall ships come
For forty thousand years I've been
The first Australian
But they left out first verse
What’s the point. Once Judy did it there was no point any anyone else doing it.
where is kylie joke
I like chocolate.
Cele is like the rest of them didn't care a f*ck .
Thank God hes gone.
And not an Aboriginal voice to be heard - we are one?
Listen to the last verse. Grüße aus Australien. Tschüss.
@@peterfromgw4615 Hi Peter, I have family in Australia and as anyone who's ever been there will know it's a wonderful country but even today the natives are still second class citizens and successive Australian governments have failed to address this unpalatable fact. The very fact that you suggest listening to the last verse tells its own tale. Regards, Jim
@@jimmorrison2746 Mate, I agree successive governments (state and federal) have failed in delivering educational, health and economic improvements to the indigenous communities. We, the Australian people, should have and need to hold these politicians personally responsible for these failures. On the other hand, there is a responsibility in these indigenous communities to drive changes within however there is a continued “blaming the white fella” for that not occurring. The recent “One Voice” referendum is a great example of the 97% non-indigenous community being fed upmwith the absence of progress but at the same time, creating a special “voice” directly to Parliament for the indigenous communities was seen as creating a special class of citizen. I disagree that the indigenous community is classed as “second class” citizens. History is just that, history. It would be a very ignorant non-indigenous Australian who would not agree the aboriginals have been appalling treated in the past. What is need today is to look forward because harking back to the past, like many in the indigenous communities do today, only perpetuates the past. Grüße aus Australian. Tschüss.
there would be if there was a payment involved
@@jimmorrison2746As a member of the Bangarang of the Yorta Yorta nation. It is our own greedy people that are holding us back. The federal government gives over $40.000.000 per annum to Aboriginal corporations. Problem is it doesn't get passed on to the remote communities that need it. Instead we have people who are millionaires while others sleep rough long grassing it. Bangarang are not victims. Yorta Yorta cooperation is quite wealthy for some...🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘
Without the first verse the meaning is lost, the inclusion of a verse sung in traditional language means very little, what a tragedy.
actually an inprovement
Not hearing the voice. Bit dull, no spirit
