Advice for students wanting to go into illustration or animation?

    Um no, In portfolios you should use different styles so they know your not a one trick pony. The only time you should focus on a specific style is if you're already popular or its a very popular style. I'd say maybe three styles if you are confident in all of them

      Your comment made me feel so much better. I’ve been doing digital art for less than a year and am still trying to find my style. Before I used to draw stick figures but I’m experimenting a lot with style as I’m new to drawing and don’t know how to stick with just one style. All are sooo good.

    I'm sorry for being rude but These advise doesn't really make sense. Illustration, animation, Graphics Design, styles are all nothing but tools.
    simply the value is not there it is in the audience and what they like or want. You then craft a massage using those tool target towards your audience according to their desires.

      ikr i see this everywhere, art industry is tough, but so is life in general and all the other industries are tough as well... what is the real advice here? there are such less sources out there which are really helpful. I mean i get it they all are extreamly experienced people and their advice means something.. but sighssss.
