He uses a Tascam DR-05 audio recorder and an Audio-Technica ATR-3350 lapel microphone. The rest of Dave's equipment is listed below the video. Also, there is an older video showing his process. He has thousands of dollars of equipment and many many hours invested in each video. It is a very professional set up.

Dave, I very much appreciate your advertising policy. I run uBlock Origin ad blocker so I don't see YT's ads. I prefer to support the channels I enjoy regularly on my own. Which leads me to my second point. I really like your low-key way of plugging your donation methods. It's very classy. I have recommended your method to other YTers.

Dave: What are you using to keep from blowing up the front end of the sdrplay on transmit ???

I thought the beauty of the IC-7300 is that it IS a SDR with a waterfall display. Am I wrong? What is the advantage of running the signal into a separate SDR?

It allows you to put it up on a computer screen.

@@RobPetty622 So, a bigger screen and perhaps running different software to customize the display?

What about a link to the tap device?,
You have a lot of focus issues from the upper camera. it looks down on a blank surface and doesn't find details to focus on, just put a small sticker on the side with some grid on it so the camera could focus on, or just go into a fixed manual focus. 4X5HF

@@davecasler thanks! I don’t see a playlist on your channel besides the obsolete extra list, but this is ok.

Thanks Dave but I don't understand why anyone would want to do this. There are numerous SRD receiver stations located world wide available free on the internet in quiet radio locations. You can see the waterfalls and monitor your own signal in real time as you transmit.
All bands are available in real time independent of your radio. Thanks again, Bob WE6M

But the 7300 needs to be on to use the tap.
Works great but that’s my only complaint with the tap.
Wish it had a bypass so rouse my antenna without the radio.

The inrad 7300 tap is the best way. The other is the biggest money scheme I’ve ever seen. I use the airspy hf plus and it has much better filtering than the 7300 itself. On par with flex. So the rxer after the tap is making the 7300 a great rig. You can still use the front end of the 7300 but it’s hot garbage compared to a sdr. With software like sdr console, you will fall in love with the combo. Implemented a 3d waterfall now. I just can’t fathom how or why anyone would by a 300$ tap unless they’re purely uneducated. 73
