Thanks! It's been a long time since I've done it, but I'm pretty sure you need to do this: 1. Hold up + right arrow to run at a diagonal 2. Hit enter once or twice (I forget) to open chat and let go of the arrows. You should keep moving 3. Now just use right click and hold mouse to change your turns
@hogie48 Yeah, I do. Easiest way is to: 1. Hold up 2. Continue holding up and hold the right mouse 3. Continue holding up and and right mouse, add in right 4. Continue holding those, hit enter 5. Let go of everything 6. Hit enter again Hope that helps.
bard AoE's will no longer deal damage, while the target is moving. now, we swarm charm kite.. pull the swarm, charm one, send it in to fight the swarm, break charm when its low on life, then single target DoT it the last bit to death, rinse and repeat
I played a bard through 65 before I quit and the expansions raised the level cap, I got something like ten or fifteen levels swarm/chant kiting outside of Oasis, I'd empty the island with the wraiths and get them in a loop outside the traders' caravan and never really had an issue with getting caught. I'd twist three chants in with a Celo's in a nice tight strafing loop, great respawn time, just swap out a chant DoT for a slowing song when the mob health drops below 20% &they run, rinse n repeat
The best charmkiting is once you hit level 65, because you can level up so damm fast in plane of nightmare once you have your level 65 charm song.Pull a million regular hobgoblins, and avoid the horror guy, and massacre them and wait till they respawn, and rinse repeat.The Xp is really good and so is the money.
The reason for running in a strafe is nothing to do with a mobs 'reach' while running straight. It's the fact that mobs only run in straight lines, so they have to keep turning and running straight to follow your strafe, which is slower. So you can effectively outrun mobs that are the same speed as you.
@hogie48 Using instruments doesn't effect the range, just the effectiveness (in my case, double damage). All instruments have a modifier which you can check out on sites like Lucy. Chords of Dissonance (the level 2 DoT) has a smaller range than Denon's Disruptive Discord (the level 18 DoT). To make it easier on yourself, just keep a horn in your hands and cycle between Denon's and Selo's.
1- How are you doing a circle to the left? 1- Are you using your mouse while autorunning to make you turn left? Like constantly dragging the screen to make the circle? 2- Are you just pressing E key while autorunning?

I remember how unfair this was. My naked bard with a mandolin leveled from 7 to 9 in 1 second, because all the mobs I pulled died at the same time. It was funny to be lvl 8 for less than 1 second :)
no i play on the official Everquest. on the Erolissi Marr server. the game is better than ever, only one downfall that i see is that there are fewer people around, and with such a huge landscape, a few zones feel like ghosttowns.. but at end-game levels, its quite populated
Hey, great video! I have a question about movement. How do I keep auto strafing? do i just auto run and hold down the strafe key? If thats the case, then I guess I turn against the strafe with the mouse? It gets clunky, but if thats the way it's done, I'd like to know. Turning against the strafe with A of D cancels the strafe during the auto run for me.
Oh, maybe it was AE kiting they nerfed. I'm not sure, I just came back about a week or two ago and people told me you can't dot mobs unless they;re standing still.
I still think EQ1 has the best particle effects, they really screwed it up with the new ones. Sure now they have more variety, but they don't look very good imo.
Jboots are in, but you need to camp the ancient cyclops for hours on end (sometimes 24hrs or more if you are unlucky) in sro or ocean of tears. I got some for my monk twink who is still lvl 14 camped in oasis for like 8 months lol. If they allowed dual boxing I would definately play right this second... I can do it but I don't want to get banned.
Why do none of these videos show you how to create the macro to autorun with strafe. Everyone just shows them running around but not the mechanics of how to set everything up...if is so frustrating for us new players

tried this in P99 green, it worked but very tiring clicking here there to change songs and switch instruments. hurting my wrist too.

Exactly. That's how we did it in 99. There is no reason to chant kite a train.

Bard AE kiting was nerfed on Live back in PoP if I remember. He's playing on a emulated server Project 1999 which is only up to Kunark.

Is the max on p1999 still 25 mobs or did they remove that on green?
Do you get better range on the dot with horn? Ive tried to kite like this so many times and it seems i have to be waaaaay closer for it to hit them.
