This is one of the best SSP method tutorials out there....I would have loved to see how changes to the SSP updated the Top Level Assembly to help visualize the magic of the method. 😎
Fantastic video! I do have a question. In the in my List View, I don't have the Default Destination box with the browser button. I have to manually set the Destination Folder Path for each file. Is there a setting to activate the Default Destination path? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I'm a CATIA user and I'd like to know if there's a way in SolidWorks to copy the information from the skeleton part without the need to re orient the sketch when using derived sketch or create a new sketch to convert entities and keep the link funcionality of this methodology. Thanks!
It might be, it really depends on what you are building and how it is structured. This is one of the difficulties with top down modeling techniques though is once the structure is set up it can be difficult to change. Any change you make would be dependent on the existing parent child relations you have already established.
External references can have a performance impact. How much of impact can depend on a number of factors and is very dependent on the file management structure. It is definitely not the right tool for every situation however it can be a very powerful tool.
Coming from Fusion 360, this is exactly what I was missing in SW.
Thank you so much for detailing this method and shining a light on treehouse!

Just want to say thank you! I am new to Solidworks and was trying to figure out derived sketches. Thanks for sharing.

Great suggestion!
Thank you so much for this video. I was using blocks to derive drawings but this looks so much simpler.
Tree house is underused by a lot of CAD User ! Good video

Game changer - thanks mate
7:40 Could someone tell how he rotates the sketch please? Also, detailed info about mobing such sketches to a precise position would be much welcome!
Hi is there anyway of converting an assembly of various parts already existent into an skeleton sketch part? Thanku!
How can I create templates for the tree house?
Great video! thank you very much
We are glad to help, thank you! 😊
Fantastic!!!!
What with multibody parts in the tree?

Is it possible to rearrange the assembly order when adding new assemblies?

Sir, I have a doubt, does external reference reduce solidworks speed.
