Best part of this whole video: "alright let's make the melody. *hits one note* alright that'll work." 😂🤣😂🤣 it's funny because its true! Still sounds lit af though. Lol
Whats good homie! keep this ish up. I really wouldn't mind seeing if you could potentially make a Tiesto style remix. Something that is a Big Room Mix. I love all EDM but if a song can keep me off my feet the whole time then im all for it.
Oh...forgot. I know you like to do the “ big reveal”at the end...but hearing some of the parts during the vid would help understand the process better. I’ve gotten to the end, and often I’m like...Wait, where do that come from. But thanks for sharing your knowledge.
That was wicked, Always wondered how people did sound design for dubstep. Keep up the good work my man! (P.S if I ever could make a request, would love to see something on Madeon's chopping techniques in like Shuriken?)
Dude I can't tell you how much this video helps me out right now! I'm literally saving it to study. What's great about it is that it's super fucking concise while also proceeding through the basic start-to-finish of sounds I'm trying to learn. It made some shit much clearer to me, but also gave me clear examples of shit I want/need to go research. Props man, this is really good content. A lot of production tutorials are oddly bad at giving a clear picture of how the different elements relate to a final product.
I can turn a hella Lotta knobs on serum, damn, even automate them, but in the end it sounds bad, altho I've seen people who turn a few knobs and boom, pure awesomeness. Need to learn a lot still for making dubstep related stuff 🙈
it takes hours and hours of making terrible music before you can make good music. All part of the process :) it definitely helps to learn what each knob actually does, instead of turning it and listening for the result. Stick with it tho, remember that every minute in your DAW is progress towards being the musician you want to be!
@@jacobhoglind1763 definitely! They don't say "practice makes perfect" for nothing. Some people get better instantly, others takes some more time, but if you don't continue to practice and learn, you'll eventually stay stuck cuz of ignorance
YES. Fucking awesome. Thank you for breaking it down. I always wondered how Excision did it. Going to see them play in a few weeks. Great video which I'm going to watch 12 more times...
This video single-handedly gave me answers to most of my questions about producing dubstep that I have been having trouble with FOR. LITERAL. YEARS. BIG fuckin ups man. Definitely subbed right after. You are THE FUCKING MAN!!!!!
Also not trying to be offensive, but you need to hit the audience immediately with a segment of the finished product (10:46) instead of waffling.....you lose 99% of viewers within the first 15 seconds... The way your video ends is how it should start! Regards, CyberEditing.
I agree, I had to skip to the end to see what the end track was like which then made me want to stay and skip around backwards to find the bits I liked. If you disagree then clearly its ignorance on your part to make useful videos, but I liked it on the whole AFTER hearing the end product.
Another banger bro! Love the tutorial on how you do these. Make it look easy. I moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 2013, right when Destroid (Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sahwa) went on tour, in their Predator-themed outfits. Such an insane and amazing concert! Hearing Get Back and Raise Your Fist live was an eargasm
I swear. All the best mentors for sound design and music production in general are so chill, regardless of what genre they make.
you weren't kidding when you said it sounded like excision god damm
Your sound design was pretty sick . LFO automation clip and the buildup technique was super helpful . Great job 👍👍
glad i could help homie
You should definitely make videos showing mixing and mastering tips because that sounded FLAWLESS
Jesus Christ this is sooo fvckn good. It really does sound like Excision.
Fruity balance for easy clean sidechains? 10 years of production and I didn't think of this? 🤔🤔🤔
Are you a producer?
Poor guy...
Nope. definitely don't have 10 years of production experience and don't know that. that's the first thing you do when you learn about automations
yup.
I like to route to a sidechain bus, using fruity limiter, with ghost kicks routes to it.
Best part of this whole video: "alright let's make the melody. *hits one note* alright that'll work."
😂🤣😂🤣 it's funny because its true!
Still sounds lit af though. Lol

You are dope boi love your work👾🔥
Panda EYes and Virtual Riot make Melodic Dubstep, you could try that out.
no they don’t lmao
@@finnkalmbach yes they do XD

Thank you mayflwr for inspiring me to keep going making music.
