!! EVERYONE !! This is *NOT the best riddim track I've made- If you wanna check out a playlist of all the clips I've posted; here they are! soundcloud.com/officialkowai/sets/kowai-riddim-clips-dubplates
really good video, your workflow is really unique i never would have thought of designing a shitty bass then post processing then going BACK and making it sound good, genius tbh
finally someone shows the process of sound design and doesn't just cut to it being done thank you! like i want to see the journey on how you got there and you did just that you're the best!
Oh my god thank you so much! This is such a unique type of video, you don't really see someone sounddesign from scratch and with a good commentary! Keep it up!
Also learned this the the other day but HOL! also really like to softclip his basses but with sub attached(either use the sub from the patch itself or layer with a seperate sub bass). I recommend later on high passing and adding in a seperate sub bass as the sub that gets clipped with the bass patch tends to lose some of its punch.
@KOWAI it's a pleasure to meet you! I would like your help please, my SERUM is cracked because I can't afford the original one, and I really wanted that sub bass of yours to be able to use it in some songs, I already downloaded your sample pack, but it says that your SERUM version is more up to date, and mine is not... could you help me in any way?
Nice! Super to the point and well spoken! Excited to try to make some stuff like this. You made this style of workflow look easy so I definetly got to practice this. Thanks Kowai!
Hey, can you tell me how LFO 2 gives amy kind of change to the bass sound? Because I look at the LFO 1 and I understand why everything sounds so but couldn't understand how LFO 2 influences on Bass itself...
fun little tip: if you're finding your vocoder makes the high end way too brittle or muffled then you use the dry/wet knob so some of the clean high end can come back in.

Great video! Might I suggest adding some CRAZY Sub movement with pitch sliding, usually makes for a really flowy drop. I believe guys like Hukae and Dyatic (even though they have different styles) love going crazy on the sub movement and imo can give a really cool product
yeah can attest Jiqui makes a lot of basses and does a shit ton of post processing and automation in audio. Sometimes he doesnt even make the shit he's just using hella samples
This stuff translates to ableton fine, all you need is serum and all the plugins he used. Try out FL demo and you can pick up some knowledge thru that to learn how to translate it. Good to know a few daws if you plan on doing this for a living. You don't have to but at least being able to translate between them is important.
I feel like you don't know what youre doing. Seems weird for a tutorial to not actually explain any of the concepts you're using bevause you don't know how they work🤷

So to get that thicc bass sound like HOL!, you just have the bass higher than everything else? Till it distorts? 😅
Yes.
i think this is the first time ive seen serum used in frooty loops
soo sick man, please continue or make more heavy stuff. I love it!
The Frankjavcee Spiritual Successor
Yes
You could also route the Sub with the top bass into a Bus to distort them together there, rather then crunching the entire mix
Been doing that recently actually, thanks for the suggestion :)
fun little tip: if you're finding your vocoder makes the high end way too brittle or muffled then you use the dry/wet knob so some of the clean high end can come back in.
this is so helpful, thank you for making this video
this vid got me out of producers block. thank you so much man!

If you're recording with OBS you can add noise suppression to your microphone.
Just a little tip for the background noise!
I didn't even notice the noise until I read this and now I can't not notice it
Thanks!
Holy fucking shit dude, this is really good.
Bro your beats are insane
Thank you 🤍 soundcloud.com/officialkowai/aether-portal-clip
Added some low cut to the sub bass and it rocked my speakers, ended up copying the same step again with ICanHasKick and made some nasty bass
That's Awesome
weepy woopy
certified banger tutorial
You have the exact same speaking voice as Elliot Smith lol
Do you have any videos that explain each filter and its and how each effect can be used to create new sound designs?
I could do that!
how does your EQ graph look different even though your parameters are level???

Do you by any chance make riddim tutorials on Ableton?
No sadly XD

Good to know a few daws if you plan on doing this for a living. You don't have to but at least being able to translate between them is important.
I heard there’s this artist that goes by grunglio that is going to do breakdowns soon on their tunes, and I’m pretty sure they use ableton
@@Niro_sounds That's a good idea, I could always create the sounds in FL from this tutorial and then export the sound to Ableton, thanks for the tip 😁
wow really dope 👌🏽
Sounds dope
Does serum presets work on vital? That sub was fat not gona lie. Also great songs at the start, definately my new fav dubstep producer
no they do not, serum uses fxp files while vital has their own file type called .vital
that was pretty solid bro, you earned a sub for keeping your sample pack free :)
It's a fcking banger broo.. but the snare is so weak but yeah ver very good!!
Great tutorial!
good
is anyone going to call out that he sounds like the guy from "Your daily dose of the internet" meme account?
EVERYONE SAYS THIS HAHAHAA
I like to make my subs P H A T
YESSIIRRR
how do you add disperser?
Once purchased you can add it to your plugins folder
Te amo KOWAI🥵🥵🥵
i might be blind.... but how did you automate the macro into the layout??
