Yes, the Harpist Dorothy Ashby is someone I knew since the 1960`s and was fortunate enough to work with on other Artists Projects, talked with Her, touched Her Harp I am sure because as I said I was always Interested in the Sound of the Harp. And other Harpists let me touch their instrument but I never really played it, just imitated it on my Guitar.
That is a very comfortable looking instrument. Thank you for explaining your settings etc. Not many guitar players give out intimate details like that. LOL. Your generosity definitely restores my faith in humanity when I sometimes feel all is lost! ha ha.
I’m a keys player but I’m absolutely in love with the pinky harp... It’s such an unexpected sound but it’s very calming and unbelievably beautiful. Thank you Mr. Walker, You’re genuinely an inspiration.
@Odawg96 My playing of just a few notes/sounds and being recognized, is a compliment that with humility I accept graciously! Thank You and Your Father and your trying to imitate me or my sound are more words or feelings I appreciate. I have always felt the Sound/Music belongs to whoever hears it and wants to use it, then We are both twice blessed! Thank You for finding me and saying Hello.
Hey Mr Walker, I’m a 20 year old drummer but I cannot understate how much your playing has influenced my songwriting. I have so much respect for you and how you’ve influenced music with your playing and wisdom. Hope you’re healthy and well brother
Once more, the epitome of elegance within music. This level of (not only) talent but peaceful vision is becoming rarer as we move increasingly into the arena of "'attitude"'/ oneupmanship. Guitar playing has taken on "'Blade Runner"' proportions. I hope one day that the attitude will be replaced by more visionaries like Mr Walker and others like Sonny Greenwich. They are my heroes. Best wishes as always to Mr Walker.
Yours is indeed very Kind and i feel heartfelt comments which is why I Feel Honored and certainly I am Humbled and will continue to do the Best I can with my Compassion, Artistry and be a Good Citizen of the World. May I say Germany is a country I have always through the years Enjoyed working in and I have the greatest Respect for the People!
You're Welcome and thank you. I must say that i think you are a legend. I particulary enjoyed your rendition of "Lovin You"..when i grow up I want to be like you.
@GreenzMusic The brand of guitar is a Custom made just for me by John Carruthers here in Los Angeles, CA The neck and fretboard is a copy of a Gibson Byrdland I played for over 25 years, it has a piezzo acoustic pick up and an EMG electric pickup. Thank You for your Interest and I wish You Well and enjoyment in your Music, David T. Walker
@GreenzMusic That is a Beautiful Compliment and Comment you gave me! I will and do treasure, appreciate your words and "Thoughts". Spend some time with your guitar and your feelings as I see and hear You are doing, You will succeed at where you want to be. May you continue to "Press On" "With A Smile", David T.
Oh man, thanks so much for this video! I was trying to learn that beautiful guitar part from 'you sure love to ball', and ended up looking on wikipedia to find out who played the guitar on it. When I saw about 7 names for the album I thought I'd never find out, but as soon as you started playing on this interview I knew it was you. Thanks again, and your playing is sublime, I've never thought a guitar could sound so pretty!
Man! From about :25 to :42...whenever I heard THAT sound, I KNEW who as playing even without the album credits. I always used to say that's David T.'s TRADEMARK! I heard that trilling sound on so many of my father's records, it was ridiculous: Marvin Gaye's '74 live album, YOUR albums, the "Mellow Mood" intro from Barry White, etc. Never mind that I spent my early years as guitarist trying to IMITATE your sound. This has been an awesome find!
@0428mar On my latest Solo Project/CD released in 2010 titled "For All Time" I am using that cry baby wah wah pedal you asked me about on two songs an original composition titled "Justified" and a song by Sly Stone "If You Want Me To Stay" If you choose too the CD is on iTunes. You probably know on my website there is some information on what I have done and am doing recently. The STRINGS I prefer/use are D`Addario 1/2 rounds regular light gauge! I appreciate Your interest ! Press On, David T
Knowledge and details that I share already belongs to everyone. That is the way I feel it!

if you can imitate a harp when you play chords, and then imitate vocals when you play melodies are you golden!
That is simply how I feel about the music.
