  • On holiday in Koutouloufari (a beautiful village in Crete), I chose to walk around and film it to give a feel for what the village is like. Lots of Taverna mentions and apologies for the poor camera work!!!

    Great video, we’re stopping at Asterias Village in October. Looks a brilliant area to stop in, the hardest thing will be to decide which of the amazing restaurants to eat at for the week 🤔👍

    The food in Pithari and Galini is very good, had a meal in both restaurants last year.

    Thanks, I've been going to Koutouloufari since about the late 1990s and it's barely changed. Lovely trip down memory lane.

    Pleased you had a nice room. Ours ( number 83) sadly was rubbish. Thanks for posting.

    You could have walked a few more yards and showed the lower pool at Marni, the yellow buildings were Sunrise next door.

    I’ll be heading here in the summer. Really struggling to find online menus for the restaurants there. Not sure if you would have paid much attention, but do most of the local restaurants have veggie options?
    Ps: great video, definitely helped us see the area better :) we’ll be staying just up the road at Esparides

      Hi, my wife is veggie - there was always a handful of veggie dishes on the main menus and on a few occasions the chef would be happy to adapt a meat dish. They are very accommodating in all the wonderful restaurants. Lots of starters / meze / salad options are veggie also.

      Didn’t really see any buses (apart from transfer coaches) in the village so I don’t think so. But not certain, sorry.

    Hello, how long would it take to walk to the beach and also walk to hersonaisos from koutouloufari? many thanks Jason

    • @LeDoctorG
      @LeDoctorG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jason, about 30 mins downhill walk from Koutouloufari to the nearest Hersonissos beaches such as Star Beach & Meltemi Beach. The main centre of Hersonissos (shops & port) are best accessed downhill along the road which starts in Piskopiano at the t-junction. Again about 30 mins. Recommend taxis back to the village as is quite an uphill pull!!!
