In the small city where I grew up, there was a skating rink called the “Reva Rollerdrome” just a mile from my house. Every Friday and Saturday night was disco night. They had the disco ball on the ceiling with all the lights and everything. It was a ton of fun! I used to go there every Saturday night. That place was there for a long time. Sadly, they closed for good about 10 years ago. I have many fun memories from that place.
A great reaction! I wasn't a Leif Garrett fan back then (I was a Shaun Cassidy fan, and you were either a fan of one or the other). And we also didn't get the tv channels that the shows he was in were on, so I didn't have much exposure to him. But this song came up on Facebook recently, and it did sound familiar, so I'd heard it before. And it's really pretty good...catchy, and it does make you want to dance. And as I was watching the video on Facebook, I realized that my niece's younger son looks a lot like Leif, but taller and with slightly shorter hair.
I loved Disco and I never understood the hatred. It was fun music that you could dance to and meet a lot of women. I turned 18 in 1978 so my I had a really good time in this era.
Leif co starred in a 1983 movie called The Outsiders that also starred Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez (Charlie Sheen's brother) Matt Dillon, C. Thomas Howell & Ralph Macchio. He was 17 when this song was released and he is American, born in Hollywood. His younger sister had a role in My Three Sons at the end.
Leif was my heart throb back in day. I think I was one of biggest fans. I had tis album. He is American. He was also child actor. Probably best known for the movie Walking Tall and The Outsiders.
Leif is a Scandinavian name and is pronounced " LAY - f ". Poor guy... I remember every interviewer mispronounced his name when he first hit the music scene and he'd have to correct them. He was a child actor in many well known movies and TV shows in the 70's. His resumé is huge! He still does both acting and singing but has had quite a battle with drugs over the years unfortunately. " Keep dancing Harri " !!! 🤗
Came here to see how many people corrected him. 😂 my daughter laughed so hard at me because as soon as he said, Leaf, I snapped Leif! She said wow, the passion, the intensity and how fast you responded cracked me up!
I know a lot of people would hate this, but I think it’s great! It’s got a great disco beat. He was so young and that was his peak sadly. Can’t help but move to it… a-a-a-all night long!!💃🏾
I love Leif!! (Pronounced Layf. I before E except after C or pronounced as ay as in neighbor and weigh.) sorry I have a thing for spelling and grammar. Lol
My personal preference is the Bee Gees and their brother Andy over Leif. He was considered a teen heart throb like Andy, Shaun Cassidy, and young guys like that at the time. I was born in the mid 70s so I loved the various music but didn't drool over the guys like my older cousins. My mom taught us to respect music, you can not care for something, but don't wreck it, someone else might enjoy it. We should all respect each other's opinions and allow each other to like what we like. If we don't, then no musicians will experiment and discover the next great sound in music. Who knows, maybe they will get rid of autotune and go back to people who can really play and sing instead of models who can't and lip sync to recordings.
Brings me back to my skating rink days
This song got me alot of skate time & kisses from the girls

I had the biggest crush on him!😂
Now, not so much!
I loved Rock, but also went to discos. Some of my friends were snobbish abt their rock, but when you want to dance, "the music is gonna get you" (GE).
Ohhh my ...such a great memory! 🎉😂❤ Loved Leif Garrett ! Yesss disco Era had such a great sound!! Loved ALL the strings and horns!

Great reaction ❤
I had that poster on my wall as a teen!!❤❤️❤️❤️❤️
Props again for playing the Lief
I had such a huge crush on Leif!
Hubba hubba❤
If you've ever seen the movie, "The Outsiders". Leif was in this movie. He played "Bob". One of the Soc's. He was stabbed by Johnny in the park.
One of my favorite episodes of VH1 Behind The Music was his story.
I think this guy was a teen heart throb back in the day.
I can remember him being on "Teen beat" magazine covers. Lol
The guy had to get away in a decoy car and removed to a different hotel as girls were everywhere trying to get to him.
Sound like Andy Gibb marvelous song 👍
70s teen idol
OMG, this brings me back to my days as a club kid!
Leif was such a hottie!🔥
My inner teenager has just fainted. The 70s were magical!
I think he was like a Scandinavian David Cassidy 😂😂
Or is it Shaun
Oh wow, I forgot this guy existed....
My very first crush!! 💜🥰
Harry, For some great 60's music try "Laugh, Laugh" by the Beau Brummels. I think you'll like it.
Oh my my my! Your bringing back my Tiger Beat/16 magazine days with all those great posters that we hung on our walls! Great fun memories!
For a 1 hit wonder sung by a tv actor, this song is actually pretty good.
Could you react to the song titlled "Feel the need" sang by Leif Garrett too ?. Thank you Harri.
His name is pronounced Layf, not Leef. He's american, and was 16/ 17. He continued to make music, and act. He's now 62.

Maybe he was made for dancing, but not singing. 😂
Is there any BASS COVER of this Song?❤
I think Leif regrets this one😂
The song is tinged with a Cuban beat .
Sorry, Harri, no on this one!
