the biggest problem using these Zebra LCD connecting pads, that it creates layer of humidity while interacting with dust rust and minerals in air and humidity
so using keypads and the micro movement of the PCB creates abrasive action on the meta;ic contacts of PCB and after passage time it creates cracks and disconnections
sometimes the silicon rubber of keypad as do the same action with PCB tracks, especially when the remote control is used in kitchen environments, so oily fumes creates a rapid layer on PCB and gathers a rusty layer and formulates the same chemical reaction on copper traces as well

it is corrosion caused by the humidity and dust rust
between PCB and zebra connection pad
and frequently keys pressing caused the abbressive action which caused to disconnect the tracks

Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. My AC remote shows all data on lcd but doesn't respond when any button is pressed?? 🤔
please check its IR LED (turn on your mobile phone's camera. point the IR LED transmitter towards camera and press any key. on mobile screen you will red light coming out from Remote LED. if it gives indication then remote is working
otherwise its LED is not transmitting signal
sometimes its contacts of IR LED with PCB are dry soldered or separated. so replace it
or sometimes IR LED is damaged. so replace it
