- Today we're gonna check out ChiBatterySystem's 66v 42.5ah Gladiator compact battery for the Sur-Ron. Previously we were using the Gladiator Gen1 72v 38.25ah battery. I have the first customer sold chi 69v 60ah battery. Seeing this battery shows me they definitely stepped up their game. I love the range i get out of my battery. Great content.
The 66v 42ah compact and the 72v 38ah compact both have the same 2754 watt hours which is what determines range the best (72x38 and 66x42)
What tune did you run on the controller for the 66v battery?
Need to see a test 66v with stock controller and sprocket. No reviews yet.
Did you watch til the end? Stock controller and 54t sprocket. You'll gain maybe a few more mph with the stock sprocket otherwise it's the same.
Where does the wiring harness attach?
You want to sell that extra battery extension kit

Yo Rik. Can I use the OEM speedodometer with my BAC4000? The GLE dashboard app is inaccurate.
Don't think so. You can however use an Eggrider or APT display. There are also fairly cheap GPS speedometers displays that can be mounted on the bars.
@@RunPlayBack thx for that. GLE emailed me that in April, they are updating gle dashboard app with odometer and trip feature.
Will the 66v battery give me more range on the stock controller? If so, how much?
In general yes, since the 66v battery is 42ah, vs the stock battery 34ah. Estimating range is hard to gauge, it heavily depends on these main factors: payload, terrain, riding style.

Yes so generally watt hours = more range. To find the watt hours of a battery you multiply the voltage by the ah. So a stock surron battery is 60v 32ah so 60 x 32 = 1920 watt hours vs the 66v chi battery 66 x 42.5 = 2805 watt hours. So theoretically your getting about 33% more range.

@@RunPlayBack no I was going to get a Bac 4000? someone recomended the 4000 over the 8000 im not sure why that is? TIs bac the best controler out there? or is Ko better? I dont know anything im really looking for info.
@@marcussmith4913 I’m looking into the electro & co Emxron controller, it utilizes any battery from 60v to 72v without any annoying tuning, leaving the stock battery available which you can also bypass and not worry about the controller tune.
The BAC4k is a great choice. The BAC8k is a great controller but overkill for the Surron, IMHO.
