What u should do is pull the material forward and line it up with the the grove lines on the left and right side, then lower the level. Don’t guess and lined up like she did. It works great
Do i have to use illustrator software or is there another choice? I've been using silhouette forever, I'm probably just scared of the change over.

Hi! The Graphtec software is very similar to the Silhouette so it will be a smooth transition for you :)
It has its on software but, it’s not as intuitive and automatic as Silhouette Design Studio. It has a strong learning curve and, Adobe would be a better option. I know people who do well with it. For me, it’s not fun… I’m selling mines.
Pros: Much faster than the Cameo. More precise and you can cut tons at a time.
Cons: Learning curve is a bit much. More manual.
