I have one, I need to get it serviced...it was my dad's, he bought it new in the early 90s, on my 40th b-day he gave it to me..told me to fix it,you can have it,lol! ...sounds just like my dad, lol! Awesome video, man!💯🤟
I've got one, 300.-€. No mods. I've changed the speaker. I swap out the Celestion V-type of my PRS Sonzera and put it in the Champ 12. Better than the stock speaker. Also a new 6L6. That's all. I use it with a chorus and a delay pedal from TC Electronics. For lead I use a Maxon OD 820 pedal in moderate settings. What should a say ? A wonderful piece of an amp. Good for home and studio, for practicing. It's worth every cent.
Hey, very cool and helpful viedo, thanks a lot. Got mine for few years now and Im still struggling to find the tone I like from it. You helped me to get closer to it, so thanks again.
@@guitarandblanket Yeah...hitting it "hard" at the input helps this amp...at least with my pick ups. I think I had the Mid boost engaged by default ;-) I sold the amp btw to switch it for something with a tad more headroom to be on the safe side at gigs
@@guitarandblanket I've just bought one and I heard that if you put a lower gain Mullard 12AT7 / CV4202 (instead of 12AX7) one of the preamp slots, it makes a big difference. I happened to buy one for a mini 5W amp upgrade, so I'm gonna try it when it arrives next week. There are a lot of cheap mods and info out there about improving the amp to its' full potential - all you have to do is search Fender Champ 12 mods.
This video is very interesting. There is only one point where I disagree with you. This amp is even too powerful for the little Blues gig. I use an attenuator to better exploit the saturation of the clean channel. No pedals. Also add a Jensen C12K inside. It is a Class A which is equivalent to a Class AB 15W. This Fender Prototype was simply awesome and perfect. I own a Bjr3NOS and Pjr4, so I can tell that if I play in a small place, My Champ 12 is my #1 choice 😉
Good video, but I can't afford a GT 1000 or a modeler. I would like to have seen the line output demoed though. One could use it at a gig if it were lined out to the PA, correct?

Honestly i couldn't get much past your weird infomercial drawing and your little gain channel review, honestly Johan's review got tons of interesting tones, although he cranks that master volume too much.

Great Review Ejay. Thanks I'm a repair technician and working on one of these now. Not much reverb Hum, Thats normal ! ! !
Great Video Demonstrating this amp that I have. Cool.
Good idea, sounds usable and versatile.
Really great great review, exactly what I wanted to know and hear. I'm getting one. I want to drive the clean with boost pedals. Thanks!

Great, did almost the ssme, a Jensen p12r and a compressor with volume and it becomes a very good tool.
Great summary, thanks

Nice!! What change did you make that helped?
I gave it some boost in front and worked with treble (pull mid boost) knob, sounds allright. By the way, how do you like the pull mid boost knob?

@@elemkay5104 Thanks for the tip! I will definitely have a look at it.

Got one too man. It's no Ming Dynasty amp...but a solid mainstay I'll never sell.
Great video review!) Thanks a lot! Sounds good!
Great Job!!
What is the 1 volt line output jack for?
Good video, but I can't afford a GT 1000 or a modeler. I would like to have seen the line output demoed though. One could use it at a gig if it were lined out to the PA, correct?
Nice video. Great sound and playing! 👍🏻
How did you connect your gt1000? Do i need an adapter?
Cheers from Germany
Great tone and great playing!.. But sorry to say that you just demoed your pedals, not the amp. Gotta get that Boss GT 1000!
Are u going into Channel 2?

I have the feeling, you are doing your very best to make this amp sound bad. Who needs so much swamped reverb?
